True, but at some point you reach the decision of building it beyond what most people should do or not. I'm not the first out of my friend group to dump 50k-60k in mods. A motec plus built motor plus tuning easily hits 15k

Any plans to color match the trunk? I've been thinking about getting this trunk, but can't seem to find any examples of it painted.

Unlikely since I paid extra for the honeycomb weave. I like the contrast but can appreciate color matching it. It's based off the TRD duck butt so I would imagine it would look similar

I've been having back and forths with mine too. In the end, I jut love how it feels and even mostly stock, it still demands attention. Not that turning heads gets me off, but it does make me feel like I'm not driving around in a boring blob. The practicality of a GTi or a Civic Si are so appealing to me, and I'm definitely starting to leave the young hot boi phase enough to consider even putting my stock muffler back on.

I love it though. I bought this car with the intention to keep it forever, and so far, that's still the plan.

Now get here ASAP and lets go hoon at autoX on Sunday.

That's a good point. I guess I'll have to get one and be the first to color match.

Racecomp Engineering + TOM's

Just pulled the trigger on some new suspension parts. After blowing out some Ohlins, I wanted something less track oriented. I would love to run Ohlins all day, every day but they don't have enough life in them for my use. Typically seeing 20k miles on most peoples builds for life-cycle. Which is pretty long for a race suspension. But I put close to 20k in just one year and it saw minimal track time. BIG SAD. So I went with these. The new @Racecomp Engineering Super-Street-1 Coilovers. Should be better than Tein, which is what I see most street builds run. I will do a "street" review once I have some time with it and can get more insight into how they perform and feel.

If you have read this build before, you might have seen the OG lambo tails I used to run. The Buddy Club V1 Tail lights. Well when TOM's dropped some Huracan tail lights, and you know I couldn't resist being a full rice boy again. This time I bought brand new tail lights, I've gone through 2 sets of 500 tails and both were used. Both failed due to bad gaskets. The Buddy clubs also had a clearance issue with the housings, causing a chipping effect on the inside of the lens. I didn't like that and sold them to a local a few years ago and have been running all red OEM lights since. When I get back from my assignment, I'll try to create an unboxing video and short install. I figure people like the rear end of my car because of that delicious trunk. Don't worry, I'll make sure she is clean and detailed before hand.

Hey glad you enjoyed the story. Ive tried to make it a bit of both a dairy and also a car journal. I think it's easy to slap parts on but sometimes a narrative makes things more interesting.

Hey thanks! Here are some actual pictures of the tail lights since the video isn't that informative. I'm still waiting on my coilovers from ft86speedfactory. Hopefully they show up when I have time in a few weeks to install them.

Thanks! I think so too. Really unique!

I got my car inspected since I had serious hail damage from the tornados that went through Dayton Ohio a few weeks ago. They quoted me at 3k worth of damage. Im going to probably try and get the check so I can have my buddy, Joel from MPH make some more carbon bits.

Since I'm still out on assignment, I haven't been able to install the coilovers I ordered yet since they only arrived a few days ago. So I ordered more stuff in the mean time to wet my whistle for more parts. I ended up buying the tS arm rest to match the upper one I installed a few months ago. Once I get them I'll post some install pictures. OEM quality is always a true joy to install since they are always a perfect fit. The quality of the alcantara is also nice and the price isn't bad for something brand new. I'll get some Glamour shots of the door, don't worry.
