Anyone got their windshield replaced yet? I just got a crack on mine as well and I was sooo far back from the big ass truck. He was on the other lane, switched to my lane and I was about 1000ft away, and BOOM! Crack

FU truck drivers!

Hail storm where I live couple nights ago, golf ball size hail. Although I didn't get caught in that, my car was caught in the hail storm as it lost a little strength and produced quarter size hail. Still, unfortunately I was at my parent's place for dinner when it happened and both their cars were in the garage. By the time it was coming down, it was too late.

Could only stand there and look in complete horror as all hell broke loose.

Basically, my car has a bunch of dings in the hood, roof and trunk. I'll post pictures when I can get past my sadness.

Scraped up the underside of the front bumper. Couple of scuffs from hitting cones. Bring it.

Hmm, I need to think of a plan for when hail comes down. I normally avoid parking under trees but I think if I ever see a hail storm starting up I'm going to try to drive a few blocks and park under a huge tree to try and escape it. Unfortunately I don't have a garage.

So... the only way to avoid this happening (from what I see) is to have those shade gazebo like things and park under those. If it's outside and the garage spots are booked.

28 days in, it happened. I was driving about 45mph on the way to work (not even expressway), behind a red SONATA, when I hear the telltale clack of rock to windshield. It left about a 1/8" diameter crack, I'm going to be asking around for windshield repairers. Any idea what a quality repair job costs, or if it's even worth it?

Safelite auto glass, my insurance pays for the service without a deductable.

Call your insurance company and let them know, its cheaper for them to repair it then risking the rest of the windsheild

Parked under a tree, probably had a squirrel drop a nut on the hood and I've got a decent sized ding now...

It's not terrible so I think a paintless repair place can probably pull it out but it still sucks to have to come out and see the dent every day...

When I bought my FR-S I paid $395 for the clear bra to be installed on the front portion of the hood and top front portion of the front fenders. I wasn't sure if it was too much for what was to be done, but the dealer had an AT on their lot waiting delivery to someone else and it had the same clear bra installed and was done very nicely, so I got it too

When I got my FR-S back from the 3rd party installer used by the dealer, I was happily shocked and surprised to see that the installer didn't read the dealer purchase order and ended up doing what I mentioned above PLUS the entire front bumper, side mirrors, ad even the outside lip of both doors!

The dealer was charging an extra $1000 just for the front number which I thought was ludicrous. In any event, I got lucky and saved a butt load of money.

Here in Chicago, it's impossible to avoid road rocks from trucks and the heaps of road salt used in the winter. Hopefully the clear bra will give me a few years of protection.

I just had my windshield crack repaired with Safelite through my Insurance. No cost for repairs!

Now, its as good as new. It left only a tiny mark but you can't feel it at all if you touch it.

got a dent on the passenger door. I think it's from another car from a parking lot. Sooo mad!

@JadeBRZ - Trust me, I'd take a small chip to my car looking like a golf ball.

@Enemies - Ya, I agree have to think of a plan to as I don't have a garage at the moment either and I'm too far away from any big trees to save the car. Might just start watching weather reports and racing the car to work to park in the concrete parkade...

@Giccin - Shade gazebos, I shall have to look into those. I was looking at car shelters, but that still requires a piece of land to set it up.

You know what's really funny, last week I parked at a movie theatre and parked it in no man's land and I come back to discover a dent in the passenger door. I was x100. Who the hell parks beside a car in the middle of nowhere and then puts a dent in their car? ARGH!

But then to top it off, I just got it taken out at a Paintless Dent Repair place and this storm over the weekend just totally killed it.

It's like God doesn't want me to have nice things or something!

Now I'm not even mad, just all the time...
