Rather good gas mileage, fantastic styling, GREAT interior. Its a bit small for cargo but IMO the size is perfect especially for having 4-5 people riding along. We only get the 2.0 turbo with automatic sadly, no manual trans. The price is INSANE though... Too expensive I like the Countryman too. More so than most of the other MINI's. Its not too expensive, but MINI's here are relatively more expensive than what they should be. And yes, the average American is NOT a car person... Thats why they buy automatic Camry's and Corollas by the billion. Every other person in a car around here is doing something else while driving too, talking on the phone, doing makeup, eating, its just madness. But driving around is more boring here than in Europe, doesn't take as much concentration with wide open straight roads. As for the license thing... There is no license requirement for driving a manual or automatic, just a general driving license. You'd be upset to learn what sizes of vehicles you CAN drive with the normal license: Not to mention how insanely easy it is to get a license here... |

As far as small SUV goes, have a look at the new Mazda CX-5, due here in the US next year.
Also, a diesel in 2013!!!! We never get diesels. http://www.insideline.com/mazda/cx-5...arly-2013.html |

I checked out both the Abarth and the BRZ STI concept at the LA auto show, and these 2 cars are high up on my list. Both are starting under $25k and will have similar performance. Can't wait until spring to test drive.

You'll probably leave behind the BRZ with a remap on the 500! Both have 200 hp, but the 500 will have 100 nm more...and weight less.

Well, US pricing on the Abarth was released today... $22,700 including destination.
At least they aren't dragging this out like Scion/Subaru. They better reveal some good pricing after teasing us for so long.

One is a performance coupe from pretty much the ground up; the other is a econo-box that can spin its wrong wheels. Yes they can be cross shopped but the 500 will never have some of the capabilities.

500 got only 3 stars safety, while all Subaru got 5 stars. Fiat can go back and make a better/safer car.
