Why hate Justin Bieber?

I don't get the hate. So some people find his music objectionable. That's fine. Don't listen to it. If you hate it that much, you can avoid it by avoiding pop radio altogether, because pop radio will play a different shade of the same shit all day long. Some people hate that he's successful. Those people are sad. I don't begrudge the kid his success. Touring and producing albums isn't easy. Do I wish I could get a bite at that apple? Sure. Do I hate people who do? Absolutely not. I'm better than that. At least he works.


I just don't get it. There are so many worse things in peoples' lives. The person who drives slowly through traffic until the light turns yellow, then flooring it to beat the light but leaving you at the red? I hope that person gets syphilis. The people who think it's okay to stand with their nose in your back while you're queuing needs to be removed from society. If Justin Bieber is the worst thing about your day, you're having a pretty good day.

1. He's dating Selena Gomez, a chick who is far hotter than any I will ever get.
2. He is not only making a living by doing what he loves, he has also gotten super rich from it.
3. He has way better hair than I.
4. He's Canadian.
5. More chicks like him than like me... Well I'm actually okay with that part, cause most of the ones who like him are way to young for me to like.

See below. I find it curious that people, at the mere mention of something that has absolutely zero tangible effect on their lives, can fly into a rage. I think it's kind of sad, to be honest. It's very cool to dislike Justin Bieber right now, and I think that's part of why some people do it. It smacks of counter-culture sheep.

If she's walking and her shoes light up, she's too young for you bro!

If she still has a basket on her bicycle, she's too young for you bro!

That is, actually, another example of things that people expend energy hating for no reason. I know so many people that absolutely cannot stand that Jersey Shore exists. It'd be one thing if they were morally offended at the hedonistic lifestyle portrayed on the show. Or if they're from New Jersey and hate the portrayal of their home state. But no, these are people who don't live in NJ and spend their weekends getting drunk and trying to get laid, just with less success than the tenants of the Shore House. I don't get it. If you really hate Jersey Shore...don't watch MTV. It's not like they've got much programming with actual redeeming value that you'd be bombarded with Jersey Shore advertising. Their influence barely bleeds out of MTV unless you actually watch entertainment gossip shows, and honestly, if you are, you're looking for that sort of information. All the same, any time anyone mentions Jersey Shore, these people can't help but interject with "I fucking hate that show." That's nice. Thanks for your insightful contribution.

I don't pay attention to things that don't interest me but I respect those other things because someone else is interested. I don't like to waste any of my own time to hate on something or someone that absolutely has nothing do with me. If I don't like something, I walk another direction because it's easier and effortless.
