Dude settle down. This isn't even for the BRZ. Probably will end up in the new WRX/STI/XV Crosstrek since this wont fit in the BRZ.

It probably is. The hybrid part of that system is all transmission based. But Subaru has mentioned they've been developing a smaller direct injection motor for YEARS now, and this is it.

All it needs is a FMIC and front facing throttle body like the FA20 for shorter piping.

Either that or a new hood.

FB16
1599 cc
Bore 78.8 mm x Stroke 82.0 mm
10.5 : 1 compression ratio
115 PS @ 5.600 RPM
148 Nm @ 4.000 RPM

FB 20
1995 cc
Bore 84.0 mm x Stroke 90.0 mm
10.5 : 1 compression ratio
150 PS @ 6.200 RPM
196 Nm @ 4.200 RPM

FA20
1998 cc
Bore 86.0 mm x Stroke 86.0 mm
12.5 :1 compression ratio
200 PS @ 7.000 RPM
205 Nm @ 6.600 RPM

Now I wonder on what engine will the WRX 1.6l Turbo engine be based, on FB16 with Turbo or on destroked FA20 with Turbo?
