This includes sources other than here. That is why this info is just a tad more valuable than what is just here. Still grossly skewed one way though.

I'm taking mine in for the recall today, they're gonna start working on it tomorrow. They said I'm ok with full exhaust, intake, and tune. I asked if they needed the stock tune for calibations or anything, and luckily in my case, they said no need, so I can leave everything on, /phew. The dealer said they have two master technicians there that are familiar with this problem and not to worry. I also verified they had the newest service bulletin, just for peace of mind. I'll keep you guys updated with the results. I wonder what my rental car is going to be!?

Mines being done now. I think it really blows it can take 2 weeks or more to pop. I don't know what to do in terms of keeping it. Every time I think about not being able to drive it I decide to keep the car. Every time I start thinking about how screwed up the whole thing is even before post recall failures I get really frustrated and then when you add that in and the resale value of the car as it goes on I think it would be stupid not to sell it. I wish we could be compensated for the resale value drop the 13's will take.

The value drop for what? Being 7 years old? No dealership is going to hit you on trade in for having the recall done. They won't have any idea that it even exists.

Of the very small number of owners that are on this site an even smaller number have had issues. Yes, it sucks for the people involved. No, the Ford dealership won't tank the value on your trade over it.

Most dealers will be happy the recall was done by you. They have to have any recalls done in order to list the car for sale. They don't want to have a car in inventory sitting in the shop while they are pay interest to their floor-plan company

Let’s all remember both articles were written by a member of this forum, whose own engine failed after the recall.

While any press is good press, or however that goes, it isn’t exactly the outside media taking notice.

I thought I recall seeing detailed instructions about where the the RTV is to be placed. I've not been able to find that. Has anyone seen it or know where I can find it.
