hmm...It looks like an 86 and 370z combination.

With the way the US economy is right now and the average American car owner holding onto their car for about 10 years, I dont see many of these cars selling if its priced over $50k. Im guessing a $40k priced Lexus, but I do like the idea of a "smaller than 86." Exciting news indeed if this turns out to be true!

Well Toyota might want to keep the "affordable" in there somewhere. Like the Zx6 Twins; they act like $40k+ cars but are relatively ~$28k cars
Wishful thinking for sure on my part lol

BMW's are overpriced like no ones business. They nickle and dime you for every last option, but that's also how they've managed to increase profitability on their cars. I find it to be too much money for something that's ultimately not built to last; that is if you follow the almost maintenance free servicing schedule from the factory where you do oil changes every 15k (ridiculous) and virtually no flush of any other lubricants within the car. Of course this is all done in the effort of complying with the EU's environmental policies that seem rather extreme in comparison to a lot of other countries. In my eyes, the longer a car stays out of a landfill the more environmentally friendly it is, but it seems only the Asians get this, for the moment.
I will say that very few other cars handle like a BMW. I got a chance to drive the F30 328 a few times and was blown away by the crazy dialed in response of all the major drive controls. Not to mention the new N20 turbo 4. It's lovely.

I honestly don't see why a inline 6 turbo or twin turbo around 40k is impossible. It doesn't have to have all the gadgets that the GTR and other super cars have these days. Just throw in a limited slip diff along with basic traction control(that can be turned off), a decent interior along with nice outside styling and i'm sold. The Supra mk4 today is still a competitive machine after what? Almost 20 yrs? Heck even the mk3s done right can give a lot of cars a run for their money. Asking too much out of a modern sports car?
