The SRT8 392 Challenger feels VERY slow for 470hp.

The FRS has 200 hp but feels worlds faster than the Camaro and hauls more ass than my Challenger. I was really surprised. The closest thing I have driven to compare it to would be a Porsche. It feels the same size as a Porsche and has that same kind of road feel. The Camaro totally lacks that road feel.

I totally understand what they mean in the reviews when they say that this is a driver's car. This car was all over the place, took corners like a lunatic, and was screeching tires.

That said, I am not used to the clutch at all. The Camaro is pretty close to my Challenger. The FRS was a completely different beast. You definitely had to shift it more and it was way harder for me to get the thing started. I stalled it like three times when we first started moving.

Is the clutch feel different on foreign compared to domestic cars? Is there something about how this car revs?

I'm assuming this is Toyota's new Supra. I'm happy that they finally have a sports car in the lineup again since it's been a while.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Could just be the clutch engagement point being different than what you're used to.

It has 1/3 the torque of the challenger. Needs a bit more slipping to launch smoothly. Don't ever try to drive a Mazda RX8, lol.

@Jen there are plenty of people who come on here to bash the FT86, so can understand peoples skepticism regarding your statements.

That said, as you stated horsepower isn't everything. The FT-86 does feel faster because of how low it is, but even with that it's not slow. Want to make this car insane, turbo or supercharge it. Here are some stock times for comparison...

This would be a really weak troll attempt.

I dunno, she could be real. We always see people bitching about more power when they should have just bought a lead sled. It's not inconceivable that someone drives these boats and then an 86 for the first time and realizes there's another world of driving available to them. She could actually be realizing she is a real driver and doesn't live her life 1/4 mile at a time.

It's not like her op didn't make any sense.
__________

Yes, a Porsche is the next logical upgrade path from the 86 atm which says quite a bit.

Exactly. There's just a bunch of WRX and Evo fanboys used to their turbos and AWD putting them in the 5's is all.

Just because something isn't terribly fast, doesn't make it slow.

This is supposedly the next supra(Toyota FT-1), not the FR-S which was to us the FT-86. I hope you're joking.

You get it, this car is special.

It's odd seeing someone so positive when most comparisons go 'well X car beats it in performance and interior space and I think X looks better and the base model is cheaper'.

Hope you didn't get a bad first impression, welcome to the internet.

If the FR-S is a Corolla GTS does that make the Scion tC a Celica?

Sounds like you've never driven a relatively light car before. There are many others out there. Go drive a Miata, S2000, SR20DET swapped 240sx, RX7, etc. and get back to us.

The FR-S feels faster because it doesn't have to haul around an extra 1300 lbs of weight.

It may also have to do with expectations. You expect it to be slow because of it being half the horsepower and torque.

The fact of the matter is that the FR-S isn't slow, but, nor is it a stoplight warrior.
