Carbon Fiber Haze

So I attempted to fix the haze myself and used the following compound. Initially it looked very good but after an hr or so it completely turned back to normal.

I have applied around two layers of the compound

Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

Ouch.
Looks to me like you ran out of clear coat.
If it was me I'll (depending on the cost) take it to a pro detailer or a paint shop.
Or try a pricy 3 step rub compound but not sure how much that goes for.

I'd personally have a professional apply the clear , in a booth.

Start with 1500 > 2000 > even 3000

Try a 2K clear coat outside in the garage... but use a respirator and in a very heavily ventilated area, this stuff is way more toxic than your run of the mill spray paint.

https://www.spraymax.com/en/products...2k-clear-coat/

And then top it off with some UV protecting glaze or wax/sealant of some sort.

Way better to use a clearcoat with UV inhibitors in it than to rely on external degrading compounds to do it after the fact.

Hi thanks all for the replies. I have wetsanded and recoated it at a shop today. However, me and my buddy did not want to risk damaging the carbon fiber so we only used 1200 grit and 2000grit.

It turned out really glossy and good looking but from close there are still very small areas of barely visible white haze.

My question is will this haze worsen overtime? Not really visible to the camera however

It looks good!

Oh, I'd suggest you apply some UV protection stuff . and then quit fretting over it.

Looks like you have some oxidation happening on your gel coat that covers the carbon fiber!
Few choices:
1. Meguiar`s #49, HD Oxidation Remover
2. Wet sand it 2000 and polish it, but it will comeback
3. wet sand it to 400 or 600 and get a 2K clearcoat over it. That haze will never come back I guarantee you.

Good luck!
