Scion 10 series FR-S Limited Edition Announced

Silver is probably just about the ugliest color for a car. Very unoriginal, plain, a waste of time to polish.

Give me a dark color any day. I'll keep waiting for better edition...

There will be a standard Pioneer touchscreen headunit for 2014...there will be a revised Bespoke option as well.

In Canada (where I live), we never had the Bespoke option. We just had the option to upgrade to the Pioneer Premium head unit which was $515 but I believe the screen was 5.8" as opposed to the 6.1" screen of this new standard head unit.
Will the FR-S's price just increase roughly by 500 because of this standard addition or will it stay the same as the 2013's so this screen can be considered a "freebie" of some sorts?

This is why I was waiting to get mine. I was told by a person in the know that updates and RS variants were coming. The Ignition Silver is alright, looks like an opalescent cross between Argento and Whiteout. Interested to see it in person.

These options will be available on standard models also coming up, then I will get my Whiteout. Headlights are pretty dope but almost more excited for the JDM/Euro hvac controls and push button start.

I know this thread has been started a million times before, but none recently, especially with all the new information that's come out.

So we know the 10 series limited edition FR-S will have HIDs, push-button start, dual climate control, etc.
The car will also get the new Pioneer 6.1" touch screen head unit which will be standard on all 2014 Scions. (YAY!)




Is it just me or does the dash have a new pattern? Looks nicer than the fake carbon fiber/space invaders pattern from the 2013's (though that looks better than the silver dash from the BRZ Limited in my opinion. I'm partial to uniformly coloured interiors.)
Also, the clock LED's seem to have changed from the ugly orange to red...


Now, I know this the 10th anniversary special edition FR-S, but it's possible that some of these features (except the touch screen, which is already confirmed to be there) might make it to the 2014 models, and hopefully those HIDs will at least be available as an option now.
They must have had them designed for North America, but to only do so for the limited edition FR-S wouldn't be cost effective for Toyota, so it's likely these might go on the regular 2014 FR-S's as well.

Given that the limited editions will be available in June, and so will be the new (and slightly unappealing) 2014 tC, anyone else think that we should be able to get our hands on the regular 2014 FR-S (which hasn't been officially unveiled, by the way) in June as well?

The Japanese next model year cars have not been announced yet so it is still uncertain. Frankly, I hope none of that stuff on the 10 Series makes it to the 2014 models except for the HID/LED headlamps and the new display unit. I know a lot of people complained about the Toyota/Scion dash but I really like it. The T pattern matches the rest of the car so I hope they don't use that new one in the 10 Series because that truly is just fake carbon fiber now. And I really don't think they changed the clock color; it just looks red or orange depending on the lighting.

How do you know these options will be available on the standard models? I mean, I would love the options as that's what I've been waiting for, but only the head unit is confirmed.
Do you think the HIDs will be standard or optional? What about the HVAC controls (standard or optional)?

I would like to see a model with less fancy stuff. Radio with a volume and tune knob and I'm good.
