Lol I never park mine. The amount of money I spent modding it, no way I am not going to enjoy it year round.

Have a truck for winter so need to save this baby for summer plus all the money saved on not having full insurance on the car gives room for mods come summer time haha!

Not sure if there's any interest, but I traded the BRZ to Sherwood Nissan of Edmonton yesterday. Not sure if it's spoken for as of yet, but 95% of the mods are still intact. All I pulled were the wheels, OFT and a few interior mods. There's also an ECUTEK Pro kit included. This is gonna be one sweet deal for some lucky owner. I just cracked 10k when I dropped it off

Anyone know of any Calgary shops that have done an install of the HKS v3 Supercharger that they'd recommend?

Good morning everyone!

I've been a lurker here for two years now ever since I bought my car back in June 2015. Loving the strong presence in Calgary for the Twins.

I also wanted to introduce myself that I work as a Salesman at Subaru Calgary. I would love to help answer any questions if you got any (tbh, I've learned way more from these forums than I can at the dealership about the Twins).

Anyways, nice to meet you guys officially and can't wait to dump money into my money pit!

Cool, nice to see someone from the 'other side' on here!
I have quick question. The 2nd gear grind is an issue with some models (well documented everywhere), and I'm unlucky enough to have one is a bit grindy. Can I bring it in and have them do anything to fix it?

Thanks!

Hey sorry I haven't been on this thread for awhile. I can ask my service advisers to see if there is a remedy for the solution.

How bad is the grind?

On a separate note, I can't wait for this warm weather. I've been trying to find Vintage Gold Plastdip so I can dip my stock wheels before I mount them for the summer. I also want to wrap my roof gloss black. AHHH so much things I want to do to the vehicle.

Davenport installed my Edelbrock. First one in Calgary and so far the only one.

They are very expert engine builders.

How many km? First and second use triple cone synchronizers which might take a while to break in nicely. Firm shifting helps a lot. Slow through the gate and you increase the chance of a grind.

Synchronizers need to line up the baulk ring quickly to let the dogs engage smoothly. A light touch on the stick for this gearbox is the wrong idea.

The manual is based on a light truck Toyota gearbox. It is one tough box and does not like to be babied.

Thanks for your response!
The thing that annoys me is this issue isn't found in all Twins. I read somewhere that the clunky shifts happen to a quarter of the cars made. If that's the case, then couldn't I have the dealership take mine in and repair/replace it before the warranty is up?

I guess I'm too used to the clean shifts of BMWs and some other Japanese models (All my previous cars were manual trannys).

Are there any official/unofficial Edmonton/Calgary 86 meets? I have heard there is a YEG86 group, but their blogspot seems inactive...

Looking to have a car-full summer this year.
