I love you.

This is good news. I think CARB certification will be a key feature for the Vortech kits. Keeping my eye on this.

Just so I'm clear, you've seen 294whp on a dyno (other than a dynapack) @ 9psi on the new compressor and stock rev limit?

Holy that's more like it. I think that's what everyone was expecting to see from this kit.

Brian,

First, let me say that I had the TRD S/C kit for my 07 tC, and loved it. I believe that was a Vortech piece, correct?

Secondly, with the kit for the twins, I noticed that the blog post you have says the reflash will work for 91 octane. Just to be clear, is that the only octane that will work? I only ask because many of us have access to 93 more often than 91.

I realize it may be a dumb question, but someone had to ask it sooner or later

That system was a joint development between TRD and Vortech, but the compressor was a Vortech unit, yes.

All of our tuning with our complete systems is for 91 octane, and this is for many reasons. the main concern is safety, and seeing as how 91 octane is the lowest premium octane of fuel that is readily available everywhere, our tuning has to be safe for use with it. Also, that is the best we have at the pump here in California, apart from a few spots that pump E85 or 108...

The systems will certainly run on 93, but a custom tune made specifically for 93 octane will (of course) allow for more power.

Let's wait until we see a dyno sheet guys. LOL

Doing the math, that peak is at 7400 RPM if the torque is 210.

Taking an educated guess (I state again, a GUESS--don't hold him to it, guys), how much of an increase would you expect for a custom tune for using 93?

just to put it in perspective if you are talking about my car on the dyno...

the evasive car i believe hit 235-239whp on RACE GAS on same dyno
superstreets car with hks kit, header, up pipe and front pipe and exhaust was at 205whp. that was on some heartbreaker mustang dyno...

i believe with the 9psi it should be a beast, cant wait to really see what it has with the borla header and new flash cause the 5-6psi is already fun as hell. im thinking 6 puck clutch for sure now haha.
