Been very helpful. The printed instructions do go into depth but since this is a first for me I was hoping there was a video telling me where everything is so I may reference it with the printed material. I'll give it a shot this weekend once I get some stands to jack this bastard up.

If you have installed it, what kind of benefits have you seen? Any difference in feel?

Thanks,

Ok, so i just ordered mine from ebay / toyota dealer for $150
Getting it tomorrow / monday June 30 /2014
And i was looking for a diy to get an idea but i winded up finding this

[ame]http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8445SoYm3T8[/ame]

I'm a bit sketched on this,
Sad to say or kinda mean, but i seriously hope this guy messed it up himself? Or failed the install? Broke something?
Cause if thats how loose it really is, I'm a bit dissappointed...

Anyone who has this installed can verify?
Please and thanks!

I've seen the throw -- the guy in this vid most likely ripped something or bent something the wrong way.

there's not THAT much play to the shifter in gear.

TRD QUICK SHIFTER UPDATE

As I posted in another TRD QS Thread I got mine for $136.42 !!!

Was going to install it myself but the Holiday messed me up .

I work at a shop with 4 Lifts but we were Closed for 4 days. I call my Toyota/Scion Dealership I bought my car from.

They said Saturday @ 10:00 am ! I was quoted an Hour ,but there had not done 1 yet !

They wind up keeping it 1/2 the day !

I was really pissed getting the run around on my day off !

Talked to the SM and he got me a Rental Car "for free"

Then cut my Bill in half {$50.00 } for the Headache .

Well so far I dig it,but it was Not as Big a Deal as I had been lead to believe.

For under $200 installed I can't Bitch !!!

Did you guys actually use the hex key that the TRD instructions asked for?
That's the only thing I don't have, and I don't really want to get one if it isn't absolutely necessary...

Yes. IIRC it's used for the bolt that actually threads into the adapter piece.

Been a while, but it looked like this:

So, good luck getting it off without that. Just buy a cheapo set at your local parts store, something like a pack of 10 for probably $8 or less.

Yup, just get a ball-ended hex socket from Lowes or something. It's only a couple of bucks.

I've uploaded the instruction guides onto another thread before, for those who are on the fence about buying and installing it themselves:

Honestly, I couldn't find any of my ball-ended hex keys, and it was going to take a week for the local autoparts store to order one( and it had to be ordered in a kit). The guy at the counter didn't even know what I was talking about at first. I had to describe it in detail and then he had to look it up. Anyway, I just bought a regular hex socket and found it worked perfectly fine. Not sure why you would need the ball end.

Installed yesterday and while the throw is shorter, it takes a lot of effort to get the car in gear. Thought the moving joints needed grease, but even after grease its still really hard to shift. This goes beyond any "cold start wait till it warms up" shifting problems. I took the pieces apart again and made sure everything was lined up correctly, but still have a very hard time shifting. Any ideas?
