How to fall even more in love with your FRS/BRZ

Me, Tainen, and three other members on the forum (please chime in your names here if you want) attended (one was a instructor) the SCCA Autocross Novice School in Bremerton, WA. We had a 4 BRZs and 1 FRS.

The day was split up into three sessions, one in the morning where we all had 5 runs each. Second one was during lunch time where the instructors drove their cars and the student cars. Third session, was another 5 runs each. In total everyone was able to do 10 runs each, with super duper cool instructors to give awesome feedback to our driving.

Cones were killed, grins were made, cars were spun, and tires were cornered into singing .More importantly all of us that attended the school learned more about our cars than we will be able to just driving them around out in the streets.

So my utmost plea for everyone that gets a BRZ/FRS is to atleast go through a Driver Skills School, HPDE, or autocross event. Trust me you will end up loving your car even more.

Note:

Sadly the timing equipment was not working for the day. Luckily I have a go pro attached to my car so I was able to get my course time as well as the instructors who drove my car.

My fastest lap was 51.89 (hit 1 cone), if I factor in the cone penalty that would be 53.89
My morning instructor did it in 49.26 clean
Afternoon instructor did it in 51.05 clean

Here is a youtube video of the three runs I listed out:

Glad you had a good time! The car really shines on an autocross course and really makes you focus on car control. The lessons I learned autocrossing have also made me a better (safer and more reasonable) driver on the street and a more competent shade tree mechanic. Just finished putting kw v3 coilovers on the front today and tackling the backs tomorrow. Happy motoring!

Totally.

Being able to turn off the traction control, put the car through it's paces and really, truly feel the balance inherent in the chassis makes you love the car so much more. I suggest everyone do it at least once.
