Just to make a note, last year I think the first group left as soon as all first group attenders arrived. Side note. The only scenery I really enjoyed was the road winding back and fourth

It will pretty much be the same thing this year. I just don't know who is leading the 1st fast group. I have a feeling that we will not be running as fast as last year.

That is fine with me I will do just as I did last year. Let the group go and chase them down, rinse and repeat.

@Scavanger If that new motor is still on a slow boat from Japan in two weeks; get to Medina and you can ride shotgun with someone!

Not the case if Ranatsu shows up. First group is the fast group. (Be there early to catch it ...)

Tentative Departure Sequence - list in progress for about 75 to 100 vehicles:

Group 1 - @Ranatsu - Tuned BRZ - Cone basher suspension mods. Whenever I've followed Tim (TEWwild) and Matt (Ranatsu) on the Sisters it has been a white knuckle experience. If I'd lose sight of them I could always count on them to slow down or pull over so I could catch up! This is your fast group folks. Good luck keeping up! Fast / Aggressive.

Group 2 - @AteMyShorts - Stock tuned FRS - Steve can keep up with those fast fellers better than me but, when he leads a group I'd describe the pace for me as pretty much perfect. This group will be a notch down from the insanely fast run. Easily my pick if I had to pick a group to go in. Best described as moderate / aggressive.

Group 3 - @Extreme86 - Stock tuned BRZ - Moderate speeds / aggressive on the twisties. If I have a large group I pretty much expect there will be folks that need to catch up so will run a bit slower in the straights after doing some fast twists. That's what I did last year and we still lost two drivers at the end of the pack! Moderate.

Group 4 - @OVR_RUN - Pontiac Vibe GT - Cole rode shotgun with me the first time he went out to the sisters. He pretty much decided his car could keep up with us and it does! He led a group last year and I twisted his arm to do one this year, as well. Moderate.

Group 5 - @Zubit - FRS / or motorcycle? - Zubit volunteered to lead a group but he is new to the forum and has never posted, his PM setting is off to receive messages so cannot contact him with a reply. He's never done the SIST3RS and says he's going out this Saturday for the first time to plan a trip for his motorcycle guys. Zubit, if you're offer is still good, give me a holler after you do the run and turn on your PM setting. Zubit says he started driving dirt bikes at the age of 6 so pretty sure he has some skills! Moderate / Fast? (Zubit - We use GMRS/FRS radios channel 5-0. Radars usually seen several spots between Medina and Leakey, end of RR335 and Hwy 59 (on counter clockwise run) all the way back to Leakey, Radar has been on the main drag in Leakey, as well.)

Group 6 - We need a volunteer. Come on! It's easy!

Group 7 - Anyone? Hey, form a "closed group" of some of your friends. You can leave whenever you want! The idea is to avoid a long procession of a lot of cars. Have some adventure!!!

Group 8 - I think everyone has left by this time ... you are on your own! Look on the ground around the Apple Store for a discarded copy of the roll chart.

I'll get there early and just mingle for a bit. But I'll probably go with the 3rd group.

Write me down for group 1.
Also side note. Lol. @Extreme86 the canyons are very twisty! Hand held radios do very poor here. We didn't have many in our group last year and the lead person couldn't hear the rear 99% of the time and we were maybe 1/4 mile behind. So keep that in mind folks, watch your read view and make sure others don't fall off.

Yep. I have a headset for my GMRS radio and it helps hearing and somewhat easier to transmit.

Sometimes helps for others to repeat the message from the front down the line to the rear and guy the the rear to sound off to relay his status to the front.

Everyone might not bring radios. I have a couple of spares I'll lend to members of my group if needed.

"read view" = "rear view"

And, if there are 20 cars (or more) in a group that distance of vehicles might be way over a 1/4 of a mile. Pretty sure we'll have a brief stop at 336 @ 41 just to make sure the last car made it through that first run out of Leakey.

We typically stop on the bridge over the Nueces on 335, as well. These stops can't be long as there will be another group coming up from behind.

The other option to help avoid that timing issue is to have both clockwise and counter clockwise groups going on a staggered basis out of Leakey. Would be fun to meet another group going in the opposite direction midway through the run! We can do that - it's up to the team leaders to make that call. We'd have to do two roll charts I suppose and make that decision ahead of time of who all is going which way. I prefer 336 counter clockwise and I like 335 clockwise. Same fun for me either way. This would make for some interesting go-pro footage! It would be cool to combine all those encounter clips together! Comments? Discussion?

Hopefully, no one is confused...clockwise means going to Camp Wood out of Leaky on 337 first. Counter clockwise is heading out 336 towards Hwy 41 out of Leakey.

I'll be there, group 3 seems about my speed. No FB or I'd mark my attendance there.

First time on this route, looking forward to it!

86,

I think it was disabled because my account was not fully activated until yesterday. I just checked back today for it and everything is approved and active. The drive itself will be in a BRZ. I can make the trip out a few times prior to the actual event during the weekends to make sure everything is right on my end.

I'll put an order in for a couple of radios sometime today or maņana since I doubt I can acquire some through other means.

I'm working on getting two guys to head to the event and I may end up being +1. That's kind of in the air of uncertainty at the moment, the +1 that is... and more to follow.

Welcome! @Zubit Right now we are kinda discussing having a team leader meet on Sunday, 8/2, and do a Sisters run that morning. If you are familiar with the roads out there you'd relate to some of the stuff we are talking about. It ain't rocket science - just some common sense stuff. Standby to learn what we end up doing.

@Extreme86 I'll join @carbonBLUE in the first group. If it's like last year I think we'll have most if not all the DFW guys in the first group
