Sorry if this has been noted before but I was wondering approximately how long would the ECU would take before the throttle response returns to normal after a flash? (days/hours/weeks?)

I did indeed follow all the tips and instructions available to read (many thanks to steve99)

I just installed my OFH and loaded stage 2 uel but the first centimeter or so of throttle response is non existent.. I actually stalled moving out of my driveway because I've been accustomed to feeding it just enough gas to move forward

Any help much appreciated!

It only takes 2-3 hours of driving for me.

Mine felt good pretty quickly. Did you follow the ignition on/off wait ignition on/off etc procedure?

It's never the same for me. Sometimes it's a couple drives and other times it's many drives over a course of a week.

+1, Without this process ^ It took me as long as 3 weeks to relearn, even letting the car idle for 5 minutes. If turn the key on to ACC and let it sit there for a minute then turn it back off before you do anything else, It will really speed up the learning process. Now it only takes me about 3 days.

Hi All, First post, I think. Great Forum. My car is 100% Bone Stock, 2013 6MT.

Just bought the OFT (thanks Shiv!), and dropped in the 2.06 OTS maps for 93 octane (I only have 93 octane pumps where I live anyways)

Huge differences noticed almost immediately. I won't go into those in detail, but will validate what others have been feeling. I got slidey on my favorite mountain road way earlier than before, 2nd and 3rd gear pull like heck. It is awesome and noticeable. A few questions though:

1.) It seems that in Neutral now, I have a Rev Limit (Launch Control?) at about 5100 RPM. Why is this done?
Note: In First gear, it seems more like about 5500 for Launch. That makes sense to me.

2.) I do hear a very different sound in my engine right around 4000 RPM, it sounds like there is a greater wisping sound- like someone blowing into a few pieces of paper, and could be from leaves maybe trapped in my bonnet? Was curious if others heard distinctly different sounds from their engine right around 4000.

Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place, or if this should just be a PM to Shiv.

Thanks!!

Yes you have launch control at stationary and near stationary speeds. The sound at 4k rpm is the extra cam timing from the tune, normal sound from an OFT engine, enjoy it.

Anyone notice extra noise from the engine on cold starts? It was about 25 today and the engine almost had a little bit of a whine to it. This is my first winter with the new BRZ though so could just be a quirk of the car (old one sometimes liked to take a sec to catch on cold days, but no strange noises).

Odd. I was having a terrible time starting up my car on e85 a few weeks ago when the weather was 40-50's. Almost two weeks ago I decided to reflash the car, before doing so I updated OFT. From my understanding there are a lot of new features for the OFT. In addition, I thought I redownload the tunes on to OFT. Ever since I flashed the car, I haven't had a problem. The past few days the low has been in the 20's and not a single problem??? The weird thing is I was using the (new) V2.06 E85 el tune, the tune I downloaded is named V2.062. Did they change something that I didn't catch because it has made a huge difference! PS: Driving stock car (auto)

Before going back to 93oct, I would give it a shot! I live near Chicago....it gets cold here...I REALLLY don't want to switch back to regular gas. E85 is soooo much fun.

have a look in the first post in the How to run stock car on E85 thread.

try Malts adjustments for injector pulse width changes for cold starting, they may have done soke changes to that in later map, but probably not goje as far cas malt did.

also try adding five litres of 93/91 petrol to a full tank of e85 will help it light up in cold weather.
