Pre Orders???

Hello,

Firstly let me introduce myself, my name is Richard, i am the Sales Manager at Listers Toyota in Coventry.

On Thursday 1st of december i was fortunate enough to see the All New GT86 in the flesh........ And Wow.

As a lot of you may already be aware the order banks opened yesterday to allow people the opportunity to be one the first customers to take delivery of this stunning coupe, Toyota are expecting Demand to far out strip supply even before the car is launched.

I have followed peoples views and opinions on this forum for a couple of weeks now and was blown away by the optimism and knowledge from you guys so thought i would make a brief post giving anyone interested the oppotunity to place an order on what is going to be a Legendary step forward for Toyota.

I can be contacted via the forum or by calling the dealership on 02476 639199.

I look forward to speaking to any of you that may be interested

Kind Regards

Richard Burt

Thanks for the info!

Although I'm still on the fence about which car to buy so I'll be waiting on pricing and options info before I will preorder!

what exactly does it take to make a pre-order?
Personally I won't know If I'm going the Scion or Subaru route
until I see them in person and see the numbers.
I'll be talking to my subaru dealer toda but usually they don't know anything!

As far as the UK market is concerned we have been taking deposits on the GT 86 with the knowing our customers will be one of the first to See, Test Drive but also take delivery of.

We anticipate the first GT's will come through June to possibly early July and by that time the limited number available could be gone for 2012

I ordered one this morning and although there was no ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) it will be one of the first to come through, i ordered a Manual in Pearl White with Red Leather which should hopefully look Stunning

We anticipate the cost will be circa £28,000 but might be a little more with the extras

Regards

Richard

Rich, does that mean you know what options/trim levels there are likely to be now?

The options when ordering (Which will mean from the factory) are Manual or Automatic, With or without Leather.

The 2 Leather choices were Black or Red which i think are heated

The other option was to Upgrade the Touch & Go system to Satellite Navigation which comes with Bluetooth streaming (Phone book and Music)

The colour options are:
Lugosi Red (Solid)
Phantom Black (Metallic)
Silver Bullet (Metallic)
Blue Thunder (Metallic)
Orange (Metallic)
Shimmering White (Pearl)
Shark Grey (Metallic)

Standard Spec will be,
17" Alloys, HID Headlamps, Front Fogs, LED Daytime running lights, LED Stop lamps, LSD, Hill Start Assist, Power fold mirrors, Smart Entry, Dual Climate, Cruise, DAB Radio and reverse Camera

There are a few more but ive just included the more important ones

Regards

Rich

Thanks for the info!

That hill start assist worries me a lot. If its like the WRX you cannot disable it. But I have faith that they are smarter than that, and it will be like the STI and it can be turned off.

I've never driven a car with it, but why would you want it disabled?

The technology is just not apt to deal with skilled drivers.

It holds the brakes while the car is on an incline in the time that your foot moves to the clutch to start from a stop. BUT, you can make a great shift faster than this system allows thus stalling the car because it still had the hill assist brakes on by the time you made the shift.

I don't care now that its on there already, just make sure it can be easily disabled.

Could you post the whole list?

When will you get a firm idea of cost?

Thanks.

I may be misunderstanding what you're saying, but isn't that what the handbrake is for? Last Toyota I drove with it, it made no difference at all, because I used the hand brake, when on a hill... starting from a stopped position?

Many thanks for the info Rich. So does sound like the UK is just getting the pretty much fully loaded one.

Welcome Richard. While we appreciate your insight, you are in the general forum where there are multiple markets represented; Asia, North America, Australia, Europe....etc. You might be better off also posting in the European subsection and more specifically the UK thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1734
