FT-86 convertible under consideration according to Toyota official!
Also reported on FT86club blog.
According to Autotelegraaf, a senior Toyota official has confirmed that there may indeed be a convertible version of the FT-86 coupe if the demand proves to be strong. This is the first mention we have heard from Toyota regarding a potential convertible version. Unless it’s already under testing currently, a convertible version of the FT-86 would likely follow a year after the coupe version first becomes available. You can find some photochops of FT-86 convertibles in our photoshop thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6 (beginning on 4th-5th page). The official also revealed that no name had yet been chosen for the production version of the FT-86 concept. Translated text: http://translate.google.com/translat...hl=EN&ie=UTF-8 |

Very interesting although I've never liked a 4 seater vert. Only way it'd look good is if it went to a 2 seater.

If this is what it's supposed to be, it'd almost have to be a 2 seater. No real sports car is a 4 seater. C'mon!

I've never been a fan of convertibles personally. Like I said before though. If making convertibles means the continuation of this car I'm all for it.

Actually, scratch that. I think the best analogy? Mustang V6 vert automatic. Total secretary car. Hey, I'm all for it if it helps sales. I'll still be getting a bare bones coupe. |

Toyota....DON'T DO IT....I think toyota can't execute a good looking convertible. They have all been ugly or just wrong. Think about it...name one good looking Toyota/Lexus convertible in their history.
