OP are you doing lighter internals or higher compression ratio? If so any ideas yet what weight and compression ratio?

sub'd. Also I am looking in a N/A build mostly for scca solo Street Modified stuff. Was curious about cost obviously and whether parts were lightened(not legal in SM) but better balanced? Higher comperssion pistons, larger cams, tougher valvetrain, and usual 200whp bolt-ons running e85 and tune. I figure 250whp seems reasonable. thats my plan anyway after deployment.

A few things to figure our with the combustion chambers with a 3.5mm larger bore. Weight unknown nothing extremely exotic in material though

Are you looking into improving the rod/stroke ratio with longer rods or is it not a concern for you?

So those sleeves will bore it out to 2.2ltr? 89.5mm x 86mm = approximate 2.2ltr.

For an NA build bigger bore usually brings with it lower detonation threshold. Careful planning needed otherwise power gain with displacement would be lost to knock resistance.

This is definitely going to be super interesting. I'm personally a fan of NA motors and hopefully this thread should be a good learning experience for me!

With the increased bore, HKS's stroker kit might come in handy to bring it to 90mm x 90mm and 2.3ltr. Would certainly give it some more torque!

There is a small problem with a 90 mm bore.
This problem is that there is not gasket manufacture that makes a gasket larger than 89.5mm. As for stroke I have something special planned for the crank. I will know once it is looked over. and it will be cheaper than HKS

If I stayed with the stock stroke I could get the rod ratio somewhere around 1.58:1 instead of stock at 1.50

It would be absolutely pointless for him to do an n/a build with heavier than stock components. rods and pistons are probably going to be 100-200 grams lighter than stock each. He'll have amazingly better rev limits and carry power better.

Think about motorcycle engines (not harleys). They all are big bore, short stroke with individual throttle bodies. This allows for more airflow, bigger valves, and high rpms. This is what you need to make big NA power.
