Not to mention the issues I suffered with my Scion tC SC. Was it under warranty? Sure, but I still spent the better part of a month having the dealership pull their heads out of their asses.

No numbers or hood open= didn't happen which entails a stock Fr-s with shotty vinyl all over it. ;-)

This is definitely a buy..

also - there is some speculation that it could result in 60-70HP. what do you think?

Quote:
While there are too many variables to be accurate on estimate output, this would likely equate out to a 60 to 70-horsepower gain from a supercharger on top of the Scion’s engine.

For now, we are simply speculating, but a 270-horsepower, supercharged FR-S sure does sound like load of fun to us! We’ll keep a very close eye on this situation and get you updates as soon as they come out.

That would be awesome! And imho just what this engine needs, a little bit more torque from that supercharger.. Its going to be perfect!

Gotta wonder how much the gas mileage will suffer. My auto is averaging a hair under 30 mpg and I enjoy that. As much as I would love more power, I am on the fence about getting the TRD S/C. How often do you really need to kick down that much power? If I wanted a dragster I would have bought a Mustang GT for a couple grand more.

Did you really buy this car for gas mileage? I guess if you bought an auto you really didn't buy the car as a performance driver so in that case I'd suggest to you to stay away from a $5k minimum S/C. If you amortize that cost into your gas budget LOL you may as well be driving a pickup truck with a hole in the gas tank. And the S/C will not turn the car into a Dragster - think sub 13 seconds 1/4 mile times tops which is nothing to write home about. It will just make the car more fun light to light which is what this car requires hence the aftermarket scrambling to put together any sort of forced induction packages.

Don't floor and stay outta boost conditions the gas mileage should stay relatively the same. Once u get on it tho, it will drink the gas

Heck, past 5000 rpms and the car drinks plenty of gas.

Unlike most people I don't pretend to be a racecar driver. I bought this as my fun little toy that is enjoyable on the occasions I am on the mountain roads. Despite my love for manual transmissions, they are no fun in city driving or during a commute. This is a reality for those of us who have jobs and don't live in our mother's basement delivering pizzas.

This is a car more about balance and enjoyment. More power is always great, but if you were looking for a powerful car there were other options at or close to this price point.
