Any dealer can take a deposit, but if you don’t have a VON (vehicle order number) there’s no proof that dealer is getting the car you requested.

Don't disagree but they told me I should expect that sooner than later and the car in April ~2 weeks ago. They've never not delivered what they have said before.

I believe they're going to hit retailers before April. That's the last I heard, but who knows.

Subaru Press says 1st Quarter of 2018 so Jan. 1 - Mar 31. That's a huge range though haha. I'd say the whole month of January is out of question since orders aren't open and it's already the end of the month.

I know the date they're supposed to hit but I'm having doubts at this point.

Well just the fact that there's a tire upgrade is good news. Maybe they'll use that model in these Shoot Outs on the reviews between the BRZ and Miata

No kidding...just to put it into perspective for the others, the first finished Series.Yellows have Production dates of 11/22-11/24 and didn't hit retailers until the first week of February, or last few days of January if lucky.

That's about a 70-day turnaround and that's after the car is built...

Honestly I believe this alone serves as a huge reason behind Subaru bringing the BRZ tS here.

Edit: Also in comparison with other cars as Subaru wants the BRZ to have a benchmark model that looks good in Magazine and Video Reviews.

I just got off the phone with one of my local dealers, and they expect to get in 3 BRZ tS (compared to the 5 series yellow they had this year.)

According to them, the tS has the option of orders counting towards the total allocation, so customers can specify which color they want. They say they'll be calling sometime later this month so I can put in my deposit, and hopefully I can confirm at that time whether or not the tS is orderable or if it's just a set number of each color. (Although the guys who work at dealerships on here will probably know first.)

Anything they are expecting is just speculation. Cars have not been allocated yet. They will not be able to order a color. Color count is being based off of feedback from those who have submitted form leads online or at events.
