Fender rubbing issues - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

I just upgraded my wheel setup and am now experiencing an annoying amount of tire rubbing. I checked where this occurs, and the tire is actually rubbing the top of both rear fender edges, with no rubbing in the front.

Rear specs as follows:
Whiteline LCA and toe arms, stock alignment settings
KW V3 Coilovers
57xtremes 18x9.5 +40
MPSS 265/35/18
Rear is lowered about 0.75"

When parked I can fit two fingers between the tire and the fender, but when I hit my driveway at an angle (even at low speed) or under hard cornering, the rear coils compress so much that the tire hits the fender. Do I need to just add more rear camber or is this is an issue with my coilover spring rates? Any other ideas?

The meaty tire thread is a good place to start and will answer most of your questions. In the rear, you're going to rub on the bumper tab. It's up to you if you want to trim that off.

Get off the OEM alignment settings. They suck. More camber will push the bottom of the tire out, which will bring the top of the tire in. Plus, it'll handle better.

Thanks for the insight.

I skimmed through the first post and noted the potential issue with the bumper tab, but the last time I heard rubbing up my driveway I parked the car and noticed that the top edge of the fender was actually resting on the tire. I guess I didn't realize the coilovers would compress so much just going up the driveway

Maybe I just need to camber the wheels in more but I didn't know that was necessary to get 265 to fit.

Anyone else experience rubbing on their actual fender with this wheel/tire size combo? What camber settings did you have to run to avoid it?
