What's so bad about septic? The house my parents have been living in for the past 30ish years has a septic system and nothing has ever gone wrong with it.

starting to see it more and more. people see a specific feature on a home design/improvement show that works in one specific case, and then want it in their totally different type of house..

Septic systems, if properly maintained can function for years with no problems. I was born and raised on a farm with a septic system, never a problem. I've owned three houses with septic systems, never a problem.

However, some states have very strict regulations when it comes to septic systems and when the seller goes to sell the property, they have to have them inspected, pumped and brought up to the present code. No grandfathering in provisions. This is where the hassle and expense for the seller can come in.

No, I would not hesitate to buy a house on a septic system, but I would have written in the purchase and sale contract that the seller would have the septic system inspected and pumped by a certified person and any necessary repairs or modifications, under existing city or county codes, be completed by closing at the sellers expense.

Modern systems have pumps. Pain in the ass. F-ing county made us replace the old system.

Nope, a profit center. They basically pay for their livelihoods through development fees. It's essentially corrupt.

Ya why can't we just pitch everything out the window? It was fine for a couple of millennia.

It was the Poop Prance. I understand it was the Tudor era version of disco.

Bowie and Jagger tried to bring it back into style but failed miserably.

My one-year review of owning a 2006 Lotus Exige. I've put 7k miles on it. The A008's that came in it were grippy, but the R888R tires are incredible. The 2zz motor screams to 8.5k rpm like nothing. We did oil, plugs, and tranny fluid. Doing everything again now. Not a single problem with the car. Very happy, and most fun car I have ever owned.
