My car kept holding back after 4k rpm
Everytime I stepped on it after 4k rpm it was holding back, idk why. Could it be because of the warm whether? I have a white out frs, injen intake, srt header back, and it was tuned. I reflashed it last night and I didn't have this problem again? I was hoping, maybe the white out would reflect the heat.

my guess is bad quality gasoline. lower octane retards the cam timing.

hmmm depends what brand of gasoline. some use more additives and some not as much. or it could also be just a bad batch like with a lot of dirt and crap in it.

In warm temperatures, the ecu dials back the hp. It was documented in a recent YouTube video posted here. Showed something like 15hp drop after back to back dyno runs without letting it cool.

Theres a difference between warm temperatures and doing back to back dyno runs. Dyno runs you're not getting anywhere near the volume of air through the car that you would get on a highway. I seriously doubt that heat is the issue here, especially if the issue went away with a reflash.

@Frsexxxy you probably either had learned knock retard or large positive long term fuel trims... my guess is the fuel trims because if you had knock retard before the flash, with no other changes, you would have it again.

I've always wondered if the excellent seal of the engine bay, hood and bottom, causes a heat build-up.
I don't know about anyone else, but my engine bay is much hotter than my previous cars, without hard or prolonged driving. I really want the side panels to vent - anyone done mods to that effect? |
