Was out last night in the new 860 for the first time.
TRD springs and sways. Stock everything else. Including tires 2.5 seconds a lap slower than my all stock FR-S was on RE-71R. Video is of the first session out. Definitely had more fun later in the day sliding the car around than chasing lap times.

First track day with the FR-S yesterday, I managed 1:24.4 according to the Track Addict app. With more aggressive braking I can see that time dropping significantly. Very impressed with this platform, coming from a MK6 GTI.

I guess I should've elaborated.

Mostly pieced together second hand parts from this community.

OFT Stage 2 w/ Tomei UEL
17x9 +35 RPF1
245/35/17 Toyo R1R
RR Racing Stage 1 BBK BP20 front
Stock rear brakes with hp+ pads rear
Radium master cylinder brace
Tein street flex coilovers
JR Oil cooler
-3.2f/-2.2r camber, slight toe in

I'm signed up for OTA on Saturday. My first time competing. If I finish mid-pack I'll be happy

You're in GT2 right? Across GT1 to GT3, those are the hottest groups with some of the best overall driving imho. With your time, you might just podium. I'm sure you can do better!

I'll be looking to dethrone GT3's incumbent, Alessandro Bellardo (from Burning Rubber). I hope to smash my personal best out there. Good luck and come on by the timing truck and say hi (except when we're working - in that case, we get grumpy when people are walking up to us, all three of us in there need to keep track of stuff).

I was impressed with the overall level of organization by OTA, and especially the level of competition. I'll definitely have to make it to another event this season!

Here is my best lap for the day. For some reason I was unable to top my practice time from last week (probably phone GPS inaccuracies). Open to criticism, apologies for the contrast (windshield banner does make the car feel cave-like, but cool!).

Hi there! Really happy you had a blast a OTA - I hope you come out to DDT, GP or SMP (really really fun track that people often overlook due to distance from GTA involved).

A quick note about your best time at OTA versus your phone: OTA uses different start / stop lines and that can play a role. Also, OTA uses a laser to trip and track your time where as RaceChrono or any other GPS app can be affected by cloud cover. I found RaceChrono potentially a second off from OTA's time if there's even some cloud cover. If it is clear skies and the like, GPS is usually within 0.1-0.2s with OTA time.

I find learning other tracks greatly teaches you what your car can do and brings back a wealth of information you can exploit on a track you're familiar with.

TMP was actually my least active track compared to DDT when I first started but after experiencing TMP and realizing what I can do with the car, I now have way better ideas on what I can do at DDT.

Grand Prix track also taught me immensely about smoothness and poise. You jerk the wheel at GP? You are eating wall. You slam the brakes with no sense of threshold braking? You will ABS your way past the apex on turn 8. You think you can get away from a tankslapper? You will eat wall on turn 9 or 10.

In the end, more tracks means more seat time. It will always improve you.

Tmp is hard on consumables (brakes tires fuel) but it’s a nice safe track to push... ddt is similar in that regard but I find shannonville has really poor surface and the run off is a bit sketchy with the poorly drained system of trenches... mosport is king but after spinning on turn 2 from the apex last year my will to push is compromised haha

TMP is nowhere near as bad as DDT on brakes.

DDT eats brakes alive. In fact, everytime I go to DDT I make sure I'm up brakes and fluid.

GP is a track that needs to be respected but fear only holds you back. You need to respect and earn your way up there. I will likely get my ass kicked there this year. BUT I WILL MURDER EVERYWHERE ELSE :P
