Anyone know a trusted shop?

Hello, and fine day to you all.

I've owned only two performance cars so far. A 2008 Evo and now the Subaru. I love the subaru, but I really want to do some simple mods to it. I know i can change the intake easily enough, but I'd like to do an overpipe and back exaust at some point.

I guess my question is: How hard would it be for a novice to change the exaust? I have limited equipment at my disposal and only a few jacks.

If its too much of a bother does anyone know a trusted shop in MA, NH, ME (and even CT if they are really good)?

I'm willing to make a 1-2 day trip out of it and stay in a hotel if needed to get the exaust / tune done. Obviously there is no tunes yet, and I'd like to do everything in one go.

So any recemendations?

Thanks!

A few places to try:

Ballistic Motorsports in Bow, NH - ask for Scott
http://www.ballisticmotorsports.org/

Kaizen Tuning in Acton, MA - haven't dealt with them personally but I've heard nothing but good things
http://www.kaizentuning.com/

Wicked Innovation in West Kingston, RI - Matt Miner is a Subaru wizard

Exhaust is extremely easy, just a few sockets and ramps. It's always more fun to work on your car yourself. You learn so much about it.

Regardless, Scotty B at Ballistics is awesome.

Sorry, yeah, what davisk6 said. You can definitely do an exhaust yourself with just a few tools.

If its just ramps then I'm sure I can figure it out myself with other DIY on the subject. I'm a quick study

DSG is a good shop. They did the finishing touches on my S15 SR20 swap. They are knowledgeable and professional.

Oh boy.... I've heard more than enough negative experiences from friends about DSG to stay away from them when there are plenty of better options out there. Their personal cars are awesome, but their workmanship for customers' cars is second rate at best. Engines catching fire (that they were paid to assemble and tune), coil-over hardware tightened hand-tight, parts missing, broken clips and zip-ties where they don't belong... All set with that.

Second'd on Ballistic; Scott's done plenty of work on my tC (Tein suspension, Defi gauge cluster) and he gets to do work on my FR-S... as soon as the parts arrive.

I can +1 Scott at Kaizen above, I took mine to him for the baseline dyno, and ordered my wheels and exhaust from him which will hopefully be here next month. Awesome bunch of guys!

Kaizen tuning is top notch! When I had my evo x I used to go to their events and meets! I'll have to go show them my BRZ now
