I had voted no crickets but they showed up. Dealer ordered a new HPFP, but apparently they are on back order which I thought was interesting. Model change?

Just crossed 800 miles. Noticed it for the first time. It's rather annoying...

Fuel Pump number 3 just started chirping this morning.
It was changed about 5 weeks ago. I got around 800 miles out of it.

Very disappointing, particularly because I got 3000 miles out of pump number 2. I was expecting better, not worse.

Hi guys, I am going in Sat for my first oil change. My chirping was insane this morning and it felt really rough idling as well. Has the dealer/anyone announced an official cause and or fix for the fuel pump chirp. I have read that it was due to the installation of the fuel pump and that it needed to be tweaked but looks like the same people that had any adjustments made still have the sound. It is really embarrassing, especially for a car that has less than 1k let alone 50k to be making this noise.

Car started chirping in the first few hundred miles, at over 7k now.

Last 2 tanks have been at a local irving, the chirping has dramatically reduced.

Figure i'll mention the issue at the first oil change, doesn't seem like theres a resolution anyway.

Started yesterday for me. May 2013 build. Picked the car up end of July from hue edger probably one of the last 2013s. Has 2300 miles. Put Motul in @ 1k miles. Never filled with anything but 91. Warranty appointment coming Tuesday.

I waited two months for my fuel pump back in May. I think there are just too many people replacing them. My replacement started making noise 300 miles later and haven't stopped since. I'm waiting for a new part number. It's not worth replacing it now since they'll put the same pump in and it'll chrip again. Guaranteed.

My engine probably had been chirping a lot longer than I realised but I only noticed it recently because I had become paranoid about checking the fuel lines for the Visconti's famous "Flaming Fuel Kit".

Now that sounds like a cool mod.

I had chirping from the very beginning <100 miles. I was curious to see if different gasoline had any effect. I tried about 10 different brands and stations to no avail. Then the other day I filled up at the Mobile station and the crickets are now gone....

So is it still pointless to get a replacement from the dealership?

Pretty much. Also, my dealership just refused to replace mine because they know it will just start making the noise again. The tech called it a design flaw and said there was no point to replace it until Toyota fixed it.

my dealer is now telling me all my parts are up to date and that the cricket under my hood is normal operating noise.

After one week with 2T oil in the tank at a 1:1000 ratio, I'm now chirp free. Until a real fix is out, its 2T for me.
