I can't say that I have been in those exact cars, but I have driven and been a passenger in fast cars. Most recently I had a week to drive around in an Elise. But yes, I would consider those cars to be fast.

Ok? I guess everyone else who has broke 13s with a stock srt-4 is lying too. Its not exactly a miracle. Even Car and Driver was able to do it. Sure, 13.9 is borderline, but it's still there.

Just admit that the camry is a fast sedan. LOL its not hard.
Since when is a v6 mustang fast? They use new v6 Mustangs for Driver's Ed here in Napa. It is the typical first car for teenage girls. Just because that was fast in 2001 doesn't mean its fast now. The times are a changing.

It seems like this is coming down to whether or not it is fast in a straight line or in a track layout...

This thread is about non-car people asking if the car is fast. Usually that implies how fast it can get from one stoplight to the next. Not about how fast it can run a lap on the Bugerking.

I bought this car because I can drive it fast, not so I could bet my pinkslip every Saturday night.

I thought this was a thread revival. Turns out it's not! But I remember seeing a thread with the same title.

I preemptively tell them "It's slow but handles great" before they even get a chance to ask. I've had much faster cars before the 86 and find it more enjoyable to drive a slow car fast.

Besides, I got the need for speed out of my system last year.

At least people are coming up and complimenting my car, I guess...that hasn't really happened before, and I've had plenty of cars...slow and fast.
we just got back from twisted sisters in texas, a 2011 wrx had a lot of problems keeping up with us through the twisties he would disappear from my rear view after about 5 corners :P

The true question is: how can the Jimmy John's guy afford a twin?

i loved my celica actually and i had one of the fastest NA 2zz-ge ever built at 2500lbs with around 220whp to the ground before corn juice a lot of sub $40k cars had a hard time keeping up with me in a straight line. so sitting at around 290 crank hp i was at about 8.6 lbs/hp. adding power to light cars goes quite a long way.

I just give a knowing smile and say "wadda you think?"
They can come to their own conclusions.
The muscle car guys think no and the minivan crew think yes and I don't correct either group.

I'm actually planning on getting a custom license plate the next time I have to renew my registration. It will read, "FR SLOW"

I just play along telling people it's slow and laugh at anyone who tries to act like it's supposed to be a drag car. Let the street light racers have their delusional fun, then destroy their times if they ever decide to actually show up to an autocross or track event.
