Its a pleasure to drive around in traffic now and when you're in a hurry there's not as much concern about the revs dropping into that torque dip zone. All in all a great job by the guys at Phoenix!

Hey Sav,
As requested, below is the FHP printout of the first FR&R dyno runs we have seen with that specific tune. It was great to have a stage to compare the tune to other tuned 86's for the first time to gauge where we are at with regards to numbers. With safety and smooth power delivery being the number one factor, we are quite impressed, especially considering how conservative the tune was - 7.8whp down from the highest (Delicious tuned) 95 octane fuel run at that dyno as far as I know...and the highest "locally tuned" NA, 95 octane numbers. The great thing about "competition" is that it creates better products for customers, so in the spirit of good/healthy competition, we will be back at that dyno for the second time with something closer to 160whp (on 95 octane fuel) but at the same time keeping the number 1 goal of a 100% safe, "det/ping" free tune in mind. Cool, thanks - why FHP? FR ALWAYS prints WHP, no exceptions. Too many assumptions in calculating FHP in my opinion.
Either way, let's see stock against this run?

That'll be interesting! Would like to see it overlayed with my stock run at Fr&R - can't remember what I got but it was close to other 86's around 115kW on the wheels. Schalk's dyno showed 122 wheel kW (163whp) at the last dyno day I attended and I took the trophy. RGM's dyno put me at 125.4 wheel kW (167whp) and I also took first place beaten by only RGM's sc'd car at 165 wheel kW. I have the Wednesday car when it comes to outputs ! |

It was simply a dyno run done privately by a customer. The customer called the dyno the same evening and then again the very next day to query that exact same thing. A gentleman by the name of "Sheraz" (dyno operator at the time) advised him that he was not sure why he got a FHP print out and sent him the WHP graph. Regardless it is quite simple to calculate WHP from FHP and visa versa when you know the drive train loss % being used by the dyno: When the dyno is done, the power is recorded on the wheels, FR&R then add exactly 20% to calculate FHP from WHP, which means the exact peak WHP is 148.2HP (148.2 + 20% = 177.8FHP)...no "assumptions". You are welcome to PM me and I can give you the details of the owner who did the run. As I said, he did this privately and am not sure if he did a stock run before. Quote:

That's cute @Vic_RSA and @dammond but there is only one most powerful NA, 95 octane 86 in Gauteng and that my friends belongs to me!
