Pre Painted Fenders

Hey yall, so I got into a little situation and ended up hitting a light pole in a parking lot. After being quoted 1.6-2k for a new driver side front fender and repainted bumper, I figured I can do it myself.

https://www.revemoto.com/products/20...nt=31960980233

Has anyone gotten these pre painted fenders? My FRS is rocking Firestorm Red (Code C7P). I heard red isnt that hard to paint match, so can I get away with spray canning the bumper and using that fender? I know it probably wont be perfect but if you have to really try and spot the differences, I don't mind, I just want the dent gone.

Have not ordered revemoto.com.

A great place to get auto paint (in spray cans). Order any paint code. Also, you can order adhesion promoter (Highly recommended when painting plastic parts) primer, paint, clear, pant mask, tape, sticky cloth, sandpaper, and prep solvent. Basically everything you need to paint your bumper.

Good luck!

just a heads up if you have never done paint and body work pay the shop to do it, you are going to do nothing but end up costing yourself money. Red is a hard color to match and if you go spray painting a front bumper like suggested above most shops are going to say they need to replace the bumper because of the work that you have done.

Just because something is the same paint code does not mean it is the same colour. The paint on the car fades a little just from normal weather and when you add something like a fender or bumper the difference can be startling. When body shops change or paint parts they have to blend the new paint into the old so the one section doesn't stand out. If done right the transition will be invisible but if done wrong the change will stand out like crazy.

Well... Some shops can blend red (or any other color) that is faded, but it is tricky. And, paint often ends up a different color on a plastic bumper as it does on a metal fender. Don't ask me why, but it does. So, getting a perfect match, even when you repaint the whole car, CAN be difficult.

Painting a bumper though is not rocket science. It can be done in your driveway and look ok. A paint booth will (usually) give a better result.

OP, if you have never painted any car parts before, I would suggest finding someone with experience to help you.

If OK is acceptable then yes it can be done.
The paint is exactly the same colour on the metal or plastic. It will only look off because the texture can be different.
Any shop that is worth paying can blend paint on panels.

I did notice that even from the factory, the bumper was a slightly different shade of red, but nobody else would notice if they weren't staring at it intensely, that's fine for me. I used to paint polycarbonate bodies for RC cars so I know the concept and some techniques with spray cans, but I've never painted a car, its just a couple spots anyways.

its not just a couple of spots its the entire bumper, if you go spray painting random spots on your bumper its gonna look terrible.
