Got my TRD wheels mounted. Didn't go crazy on the tires (HANKOOK VENTUS V12 EVO2 K120) since I'm not sure if these will be my go to wheels/tires, or if I'm going to drop more on 18x8s. DD wheels/tires for now.

@tommy can you not use the motul 300 for both transmission and diff? Any reason you're using amsoil?

I believe the differential calls for a different weight, at least according to Amsoil. I picked Amsoil because of their good reputation (online) as a great product. I'm sure Motul is great too but isn't it super expensive?

Amsoil is expensive, Motul is even more expensive. You don't "need" to use either unless the car sees heavy track use. Castrol Syntec, Mobil1, etc. are great gear oils for daily driving.

no the weight is the same, i think the transmission is gl-3 or higher and the diff is gl5 so gl5 is gonna work fine in both. It is pricey though

Transmission wants GL4, differential wants GL5. The Motul is a GL4/GL5 so you could use for it both and many people do. It's also convenient because you only need 4 bottles instead of 5.

A normal GL5 fluid would cause more wear to the copper in your transmission. I went with the GL4 only Amsoil because I am skeptical (paranoid) of a hybrid type fluid specifically in the transmission.

Yeah, depends on which license plate you pay for, though--I think it's $20-$60 or so extra each year (beyond your normal annual vehicle registration fee). There's several different custom plates you can choose from--some allow certain special characters, some have special backgrounds, and all of them support different types of causes in California.

I think mine is $40/yr and benefits an arts initiative in California. There's also one that lets drivers use a hand and I think it benefits a children's cause of some sort. There's one for the environment, for Lake Tahoe, for past Olympians, for Military Veterans, and I can't remember what the other ones are.
