That's what we are all here for. Bitching and moaning doesn't actually do anything to help rectify the issue at hand. If I have the means to help accomplish something, then I'll gladly help out.

So the intake that gives the most power atm that is out is a INJEN?

According to these dynos yes, but some of us (myself included) are seriously questioning if the gains shown would happen under real world use. I really doubt it.

Also, it seems most of the gains come from leaning the AFR. Not going to get these gains if you already have a good tune.

Glad Injen makes some power. I got Injen intake since it released. I been running with it 3k+ miles already. Sound great, no issue. I didn't reset my ECU yet, do I have to reset it?

Intakes are mostly looks, and sound. If you're getting intake to be a power booster you're doing it wrong. The gains will be marginal for all the intakes, they're all a pretty poor power/cost ratio... It's still one of the first things i'll do though, because i love being able to hear the intake charge, and i like the look . And they're really not all that expensive as an early mod.

syms.

that intake hasn't been tested yet, i don't even know if its on the market. I can tell ya one thing though, the CF isnt for the misers.

It's those goddamn underpants gnomes every time !

But in all seriousness, seems there's still a bit of work to be done intake mod wise. I'm gonna hold off till spring methinks and get a tune at the same time.

Without a tune to correct, varying the position of the MAF sensor will have a HUGE impact on performance (as will any variation to tube diameter) that has nothing to do with actual flow changes.

Would be interesting to re-evaluate after a tune to optimize performance on each.

BTW, I just finished my temperature testing.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...5&postcount=41

This right here proves my point about the open hood dynoing not directly reflecting real world performance differences. Look at the graphs to see the temperature differences between the aFe and AIRAID. The Injen itself would run even warmer than the AIRAID due to the design.

From the AFR graphs it's obvious the power or lack thereof is mainly due to the mixture either being leaned out or running too rich. Injen runs especially lean compared to the stock tune so it's no wonder it made so much power.

The issue is when someone tunes the car and corrects that behavior it's no longer going to make as much power, and that's what we've seen pretty consistently.
