Get a 818 racing chassis then make a fiberglass body that looks like the render in the first post.

Getting off topic again, (not mid engine) but another Artstation find. I know the thrill of a rotary but not sure I'd put it in a twin.

Great looking skeleton eh? And far less expensive than R8 too. Just be sure you're man enough to handle the ridiculously excessive fun Speaking of R8, seems like color is a big part of the look. Most colors don't look very special. A red chrome one is often at the underground parking of a nearby office building. Very catchy but also very tacky. Came across one in Daytona gray pearl at a plaza a few months back. Now that, is spectacular. Personally though, nothing can beat Ferrari for looks. Came across a pristine Italia two weeks ago at indoors parking for an office building. Ouch! Not all Ferraris are drop dead gorgeous though. Came across a GTC4Lusso at a plaza last week. Such monstrosity! If I had more money than I know what to do with, something like a Ferrari California for daily driving plus an Ariel Atom for no holds barred fun on the track would be a rather good mix. |

Mid-engine 86......a.k.a., a used Boxster/Cayman.
If you want to get an idea of what a mid-engine 86 would likely be like (right down to having the same horsepower), drive a first-gen Boxster prior to the 2000 model year. I would say the Cayman is an even closer and more proper comparison since it's not missing a structurally integral roof, but in terms of output it's a lot less apples-to-apples than the early Boxsters. It's balanced, just differently, and just like the 86, it won't shove you into the seats and blow the doors off, but it's a lot of fun (IMHO) chasing down more powerful cars when the road stops going straight. They actually drive very similarly to each other, but the Boxster's seats are pretty awful even for their era, and I've gotten spoiled by the 86 seats. If I could put the 86 seats into the Boxster it would be amazing. I can say the 86 is much more predictable in the rear in terms of when it's going to let go. You get a pretty big seat of the pants warning compared to when the Boxster steps out. EDIT: Somehow missed fatoni's mention of the Cayman earlier. At least I know I wasn't the only one thinking it.
