I am still using 2014 version and it is totally fine for me. Just install what you like and be done with it. Are you really waiting for the manufacturer fix it?

If there is an STi muffler (which looking at the test car it looks like it's just the stock system), it would most likely be a US manufactured version.

SoA did this with the STi exhaust option for the WRX and STi. The JDM version is made by fujitsubo and not the same one available for USDM, which is made by nameless.
I knew they were manufactured by fujitsubo, which I understand is pretty prestigious, but I was unaware how little they are produced (which makes sense considering the import price). I guess I'll stick to saving my pennies. The muffler and rear diffuser are the last big ticket items on my list. For now...

Yeah they just don't produce in large volumes. I would say if you can find one at a competitive price get it. Even though the retail cost of it has dropped over time, shipping and import costs have increased, so it's actually more expensive than when I bought it.

While it's definitely an expensive piece I think I'm more immune to it now that I'm buying euro parts. Eyeing the akrapovic exhaust for my golf R and it retails at 3500 euros lol

Not really it's just that they changed the shape to the can trapazoid as if to say screw you and I'd like to keep my car looking as one as possible otherwise yes if they won't put one in I'll drive to Canada my self to get a one piece dash to replace the head unit with a pioneer android auto unit

Do you want similar quality wheels, brakes, shocks, exhaust, and interior etc with Cayman to check those boxes? Be ready to pay around $50,000 more realistically. I would buy Cayman for that price.
Lol look at the difference between sti and wrx. I don't think brz is 25k and brz sti is 50k duh come on buddy.

Regardless no fing way wed ever see a brz with over 260hp

More power and tq is rad but wanting to go from 200 to 350 on this car is silly.

Your Monogram costs about $5k more than a base FRS and contains no increased performance pieces. So when talking about a potential STI and what it would cost, not really applicable. Even more irrelevant since most BRZs already come with some of the Monogram goodies.

Still, I'm sure it's a sweet ride!

Major malfunctions.

- doors that can't stay open on the slighest incline. Sick of passengers and myself getting my legs chopped off when the door closes and slams on its own. This is a joke and I know Japan is not flat terrain. Honestly unacceptable.

- oh sh1t handles for easier ingress egress, come on man.

- the way the power windows work is highly irritating as well.

I've never had an issue with any of those...

I have a nice bruise on my shin from this evening. Left my leg out of my car with the door open while getting a bag, and bam! I refer to the doors as automatic-closing doors.
