I agree the stock suspension, especially geometry, are not bad. Corner balancing is one of the main advantages to coilovers as well as tune-ability to current road surface. I will do a few track days before I even think of modifying anything. I only want to upgrade where the car is lacking currently.

If you like the car at stock height there's really nothing wrong with the stock springs and struts except corner balancing is a little tough but my spacers could take care of that little problem as well. Lol running stock suspension(with poly bushings) allowed me to run 275 Hoosiers and be one of the very fastest autoxers in my region along with being the biggest money winner in Scion Canada's contingency program. I really do like the stock suspension but probably will go with some good coilovers for next summer. :-/

How in the world did you clear 275 hoosiers with stock springs?

Also, any sway bar mods? Camber?

I certainly wouldn't recommend my autox setup to anyone that cares about proper autox classing but IMO my setup gave the best times for the least dough, which in turn made me the most dough with overall raw wins and ftd's within my region.

My suspension setup was very simple. Shitty garbage whiteline tophats(castor/camber). Whiteline castor/anti-dive front control arm bushings. Rear whiteline camber adjustable upper control arm bushings. And I did have to grind down the front spring perches and a little of the front springs but only where they're fully in contact with the perch. The sways and subframe bushings were 100% oem. Yes, in some pictures it looked like the car was going to tip over. Lol Much of this will change if I decide to autox again next year.

Final alignment settings were -1.3 deg camber, 1/8 toe out up front and -1.8 camber, 0 toe in the rear. I definitely needed more camber, especially in the front but I wasn't even able to slot my front struts because of the 275's. :-/ damned compromises.

Wheels are 17x9 +45 rpf1's with 10mm spacers in the front with arp studs all around. And 275/35/17 A6's that are signicantly shorter than stock which kept my fenders pretty(hellapoked FTW)

I wasn't 100% satisfied with any of this ^^^^but my car proved to be faster than anyone could've imagined, especially me.

I have 1/2 a set of subtle solutions spacers if you are interested (kit is for wrx, but fronts are the same as brz, just need to purchase the rears). PM me if interested.

I saw that Subtle Solutions has a premade 1" kit like this one. I know fooling with suspension requires an alignment after, but would raising it the 1" put too much positive camber on the rear? I've tried looking into being able to adjust rear camber for cheap, but all I've found was expensive control arms. Sorry, but you'll need to keep it simple with me, as I am just learning about our cars. I live in Kansas around a lot of dirt/gravel farm roads, and the extra ground clearance would give me more peace of mind.

If its just dirt/gravel concerns in a DD situation, wouldnt the JDM full underbody panel and some mud flaps be enough?

Lifting the car wont stop gravel from being kicked up by your or other's wheels and smacking the paint :\

But yea, no way to adjust camber in the rear without aftermarket control arms.
