1300hp capable 6 speed swap who is interested?

Dear Mods this thread is just to gauge interest it is not and will not be a for sale thread. I'm working on a swap for my personal car, but am offering to help the community if their is a demand. I'm not going to go into extreme detail, but each trans will come with brand new internals and a custom gearset "your choice of helical or straight cut", twin disc clutch w/ flywheel, aluminum driveshaft "your choice of oem rear or ford 8.8", trans mount, adapter plate and anything else required for operation. I have a few options for a trans case so I will update when I decide. My goal is to have a "plug and play" swap with every single part being brand spankin new in the 6k price range. Sounds expensive, but a v160 alone is near that and the exedy twin disc and par gearset will most likely cost more.

****I will be leaving the country on november 1st and I do not know when I will be returning. If anyone else is interested in this swap you can still post on this thread and I will update as soon as I return. This will be my main priority once I get back.

Way out of my league. I'm sure the Stage 2+ FI crowd will be interested.

Kudos to you for keeping it a 6 speed and not a dogbox or a TH400

The option of straight cut gears would make it a dog box... did you mean sequential?

$6k isn't that bad of a price for what you'd get but honestly, I don't forsee anyone with this chassis to need something to handle ~1300 hp.

Straight cut gears =/= dog box. Dog box refers to the engagement and can be had with helical cut gears as well.

And straight cut gears can be fitted with synchronizers.

This is a little off topic, but why do companies always rate their drivetrain parts in HP and not torque? A torque rating would be a much better indication of the strength of the unit.

I agree with is statement. When tuning my old 300ZX Twin Turbo I did some modifications that made it push 550 rwhp and 602 rwtq and I ate several highly rated horsepower clutches prior to getting one that could hold that Torque. One of my clutches after a full break in procedure died on the first launch... Luckily the vendor I was working with upheld the warranties and kept sending me new clutches until we got it right. I think that I only paid the difference in prices between the clutches.

Dear NomoreNA,

Since when did transmissions get rated in horsepower?

Yours faithfully,

I've been inside this tranny, I hope you have a magic wand to wave to make it handle that hp level. Or are you blowing smoke and saying 1300hp......from a rotary with 200ft/lb and a 13,000rpm redline lol.
