After seeing this stripped down version, I'm thinking this car might actually get close to $20k! Maybe even a $19,995 base price???

Either way, that stripped down model = me gusta. Hell, ditch the radio too and I'm down!

The colors are my only disappoint, that and the slightly modified bumper for US specs. I hope the BRZ doesn't do that.

That's great and all for you but some of us want ALL those options and they need to make them available. They should leave it up to the buyer. They should not make the decisions for us. It's always the same crap with car manufactures and the NON options we get in the states. I'm really getting sick of it.

I have experience with this. I own a Mazda 2 and in the rest of the world it's a premium hatch with options like keyless entry and HID Projector Headlights. Here in the states we didn't even get a center arm rest and hardly any options what so ever.

After saying all that I'm hoping that Scion will have plenty of options available as they tend to do with their other cars. We'll have to wait and see.

But if they don't there is no way in hell I'm picking the Scion over the Subaru.

and for those in hope of a greddy kit: i said it before and i'll say it again...

it would require low-comp pistons.

at that point, almost easier and probably more power/reliable to just swap in a WRX engine.

its probably what greddy is doing for gushi's FR-S anyway.

Same, Scion is ticking me off right now. I hope we see some leaked scion training manuals and figure out these options - or else this year is gonna end on a bad note for a lot of us.
And I want the white Tach in your sig! I don't want to have to change that out...waste of money. Just make it right the first time! Argh! Scion, you make me angry [tonight]. lol, I want to see the options asap.

And to those that say get the scooby version for higher quality, what if you don't like the look?

Quick question, will this engine have some sort of VVT-i system?

That would be too close to the tC. ~22k-ish sounds more likely.

One thing I do not like is the gauge cluster. I would love to have access to more gauges like oil pressure/temp.

What this guy said, if it was priced at 20K no one would buy a tC ever again.

Overpriced exhaust? Naw that's too long of a word, heck two words. I wouldn't get any hopes up of FI on this car at this point (there's no massive front mount to be seen either :P). The CR is way too high. But, that said, I wouldn't doubt that at the very least Subaru is working frantically on getting a turbo version of the car ready for the following year due to all the negative comments it's been taking due to the massive power deficit this car has. The motor just isn't impressive at all, it's output is something done years ago in regards to the K-series of Honda motors, even the 2ZZ-GE is to me more impressive, and that's a decade old.

Exactly what I said. That just shows that Toyota is feeling guilty based on what they've said originally with the car.

Oh that greddy exhaust does make the back look better. Good thing they put and ugly ass stock one that is cheap so you can save money to swap it out lol. Kinda wana see what a single delete would look like. Hope they also dont offer ugly Enkies or w/e cheap discount tire rim that they always use as a dress up at the dealers.

I'm for both cars honestly, if the price difference is significant I'll be happy to drive the FRS I mean they're so much more I could do with that extra money. I remember the S2000 ap1 being pretty spartan too and no one complained they loved it for it being a good sports car. This FRS is the same, I have no problem with it. I'm a huge supporter of Subaru and I want the BRZ I wanted Subie's variant since they showed the MARK 1 Toyota, I had faith in Subaru.

But at the same time I support Scion too, it's comes to the prices now and Subie colors.
