The Hibiki 12 is also excellent, and the bottle looks super premium.

Highland Park 12 is my go-to for a medium priced Scotch. I also really love the Islay distilleries: Caol Ila 12 and Arbeg Uigeadail are my favorites.

I also go with the HP12 for a "daily drinker", great all around scotch.

I wish we could get the Hibiki in Canada, last time I was in the states it was a tough choice but I went with the Macallan 12 instead (because you also can't get that in Canada).

I have to agree on island whiskeys. Highland Park and Scapa, from Orkney, are my wife's go-to malts. I'm more of an Islay guy, Caol Ila, Bruichladdich, and Lagavulin, though I like Ardbeg as well. When pressed, the wife is happy to drink Bunnahabhain.

I will admit to a liking for Oban, which is almost an island malt being on the coast, and Balvenie PortWood finished 21, which is the only mainland malt I really like.

Laphroig 10 is my go to with Talisker 10 running a close second.

Talisker 10 is another one of my favorites, I always have a bottle on hand.

It's about as peaty as I like to get though, I don't mind the other Islay stuff it's just not my favorite.

I like The Famous Grouse 18 yr old. The regular Grouse is a blended scotch and not much to talk about. The 18 is not a single malt but a vatted malt consisting of more more than one single malt. Usually Highland Park, McAllen and Glen Turret.

Islay scotch's are really peaty and while I enjoy them on occasion they could never be my "go to".

I am more of a Glenlivet and Glenfiddich type of guy.

Heaven is a 15yr in either
