I wonder when Subaru will give definite on BRZ STI version with power and timeline info.?

I don't want to buy a BRZ to see an STI appearing the following year.

I heard that they want to bring out a new model every year, so you might be waiting for next years model a very long time....... I am hoping a supercharge kit will be avaliable by the time mine reaches the end of the toyota 5 year warrenty....

Well to be fair Scion said that (I think), I'd look at their nearly annual RS (release Series) cars as an indication of what that means...

Usually a new previously unavailable color, wheels and exterior trim goodies. Otherwise there are a few bolt on parts already offered as dealer installed accessories and that's pretty much it. I very much doubt we will see yearly updates on anything significant.

The article also hinted at FI being unlikely. though if I were toybaru I'd say that every time I was asked so as to not hurt initial sales by encouraging people to wait. We won't see or hear about turbo development till after this car launches.

They might do what they did with the TC, claim TRD development of a bolt on FI kit that would be sold under warranty down the road. This would shore up few sales on people worried about low power and would allow budget buyers to purchase now and save for the extra expense of more power later.

Not sure, it doesn't clarify one way or the other in the 86 scans. I kinda doubt it based on how different the cars were described. Maybe he doesn't like Toyota?

It was not. The author of the 86 "review" stated he only had a mile with it, while Ollie had all day with the BRZ.

Thanks for the pictures. It's odd that the two articles read so differently. Guess it's going to be a fairly polarizing car.

What a stupid comparison article. One guy gets all day with engineers egging him on the whole way. The other guy hardly gets to even drive the car, never mind actually use it how its meant to be.

Although I must admit they both got me happy/confused/EXCITED!

"Toyota started telling foreign reporters the sports coupe was their idea."

That is epically hilarious and sounds so Top Gear

Sweet article, thanks for the scans infernal. Makes me even more excited to get a BRZ. I wonder if there is going to be a future Top Gear ep when cars are released. Take both the GT86 and BRZ out for a drive; probably would be a very entertaining episode.

I find this article rather disappointing and one sided tbh but it doesn't bother me as I'll still have the Toyota badge on mine.
