When is it ok to put STi badges on a BRZ?

I was looking at STi badges before i even got my car, but then i was watching the Grand Tour and Jeremy said something along the lines of "its a sin against humanity to put M badges and grill stripes on a non-M BMW". i said you know what, hes right, he totally changed my mind. its pretty shameful to put a GT badge on a v6 mustang, hellcat logo on a base challenger, STi badges on a WRX, M badge on a 330, the list goes on.
what do you guys think of this?
im thinking maybe after you do BBK, boost, and coilovers its ok to call yourself STi BRZ? what else does a tS have that a BRZ doesnt?
what do you guys and gals think?

I am having STI engine and transmission mounts installed this coming week, therefore, by default I'll have STI labels on my car but hidden from view!! Ole Jeremy can't beat me up!!

My opinion, never. However, if you do those things to it and want a fancy badge you could take a play out of the Nissan book. I understand there are folks that modified non-GTR Skylines into something that might look or perform like a GTR, then rebadge it a GT Kai. Of course some just rebadged it to GTR anyway, but you already know my opinion on that.

There's a difference between installing parts with the badge printed on them and saying the car as a whole is an STi.

IMO, If they make you happy, get them. I would also expect to get some kidding arround about them... Unless under your hood is an Sti engine.

I'd say if you installed all the parts that actually make it an STI then it's ok. Either they install or you have it installed so not seeing a difference however when selling, an explanation would be in order

If you install even the STi Performance parts, then you'll have many badges either you like it or not. I believe the tS has 20 or even more STi badges. For my tastes there are too many, but this doesn't mean that it is not right or that only WRX STI should have them. Our cars are focusing on handling and it is fine to have the badges even if the engine is not tuned by the factory. Different cars, different priorities ...

LOL, wheels and lip were tuned by STI.

If you have a WRX STI then you have the badges anyway, if you don't, you don't.

Marketing at it's best.

I'd say if you have a couple true STI parts you could run that little sti badge in the bumper without being an asshole. You're not saying you have a brz sti because
.. that doesn't even exist. Even the "ts" wasn't considered a true sti.
