Ok,....maybe I'm all wet,....there are much more knowledgeable individuals on this site than me,.. @regal I went about 4k very spirited miles, with the chirpy fuel pump, another non issue to me (knowing that I was going forged soon)on factory tune before the build, then slowly went to 20psi on a dyno first with pump then to e85. I just wanted to share my experience to what I have done and experienced. My tuner/builder is very good at keeping things at safe levels but, we all know this engine hasn't been fully vetted yet hence me finding some of its limitations. I just would hope that the guys pushing it even more than I have would be more forthright on other limitations, but they are not at the moment, and there are some.....in time I guess,....its been a very expensive endeavor for me so I'm building stronger and backing off on the WHP/boost levels.

You are far from being all wet.. and your actual experiences are much more valuable than alot of conjecture and opinions. You obviously expose your car to extreme
conditions and have no problems to report... except for the crank.. lol..
you stressed it good.. you must be having fun..

Say goodbye to the Aventador V12, Viper V10, Ferrari F12 berlinetta, oh and they might as well shut down the LaFerrari while there at it right? lmfao

I think not..

Cafe standards (Corporate AVERAGE fuel economy). Throw a couple models that rock on gas and a viper can still be sold according to cafe regulations.

Or just pay the fine. Exotics won't care.

I was joking, CAFE only says they will need to pay a gas guzzler tax + another tax on the final price anyways on an exotic luxury car such as those it won't make a dent to the person buy and the buyer just won't care.

I wasnt aware a manufacture just had to pay if they don't meet requirements. All about the money as always.

The twins are sold in more countries than the USA, it was tuned for low carbon emmisions in part because of taxes the consumer has to pay in these countries.

I prefer to have my engine tune for reliability which is counter to meeting a bunch of emissions regulations. This isn't the first time for a questionable factory tune on a Subaru boxer. Anyone just entering this thread only needs to google " Subaru factory Tune Detonation", you will learn more than reading the numerous pages and threads about this problem on this forum.

Even Toyota may not offer the South African flash to the USA as its possible they would have to re-qualify some of the acceleration tests. It could be a reason why we haven't heard jack in almost a half a year.

I recommend as most Subaru enthusiasts do to get a good aftermarket tune for any performance Subaru engine. Request minimal knock correction as a goal from your tuner.

Good luck.

Only if you want to void your warranty.

The tune will make you less likely to need the warranty in the first place.

yup, and it's a great way to go stage 2. It's what im debating right now at 2600 miles. Tune it with headers and an intake, and get rid of the factory pos tune. Only thing is, this is my first brand NEW car, so im worried about not having warranty

Any idea when he purchased the car? I'm assuming May-June of last year based on mileage?
