That video - why did R&T even bother? At the very least there should be some engine/exhaust note.

Did anyone else see the snap oversteer at 1:06 to 1:07 in the video? Looks scary fun!

4.1 rear diff is par for the course for a car like this, the RX8 has a crazy short rear diff too (high 4's IIRC).
yeah my celica has a 4.529 final gear and a .725 6th gear

I did the math - for the manual gear ratios, rear end, and tire circumference, this car should top out at 62mph at redline in 2nd gear. That's per my notepad and calculator. I had no formula for tire deformation, or other variables that I guess drop that to a real world 59mph.

Now what about motor break in? I've heard that cars perform BETTER after 5-6k miles. Might pick up a few tenths.

Either way, sounds like this car will be pretty spirited to drive around if you're not afraid of getting close to red line. But gotta wait first for the break in period is over before hitting over 4k rpms. Thats going to be a bear!

I still don't think this is going to be a low 6sec car. More like 6.9-7.1.
Real world figure? Where in the real world are you reving and doing drag launches? On the street...no...drag strip. And with the VHT laid down for traction is that still "real world". So define for me, what you mean by "real world" cause if you are doing drag launches on the street then to me...that doesn't represent "real world".

In the "real world" if you put your foot down at a stop light in a Chevy Astro van chances are you will be going faster then the people beside you.

We already know this isn't a drag car, 7 seconds to 60 is well fast enough for the real world.

Particularly if you swap out the V6 for a small block V8 (almost a direct replacement). I'm seriously considering doing that with mine once it hits 300K later this year!

Yes sir. Hopefully help keep the paper racing crowd away from the car as well as keep insurance rates down.

In other words, the BRZ offers a level of engagement that, until now, has been either too costly or too impractical for the average enthusiast.

And that's not worth $24,930 (speaking of the FR-S here, which should have better turn in than the BRZ)? GTFO!

But the number that does make me smile? 0.92g skidpad on low rolling-resistance tires!
