Some OEM wheel haters would say they did you a favor, but that sucks. What area of town are you in? I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I see anything pop up. Unfortunately there's likely no way to identify them as yours.

My 04 STi was stolen from my garage back in '05, and my garage door was only open for a couple hours that evening.

Thieves are bottom feeder shitbags.

Somewhat related, I read a story recently where a homeowner (or rental tenant, can't remember) was finding repeated evidence they were being robbed. He apparently tried notifying the police beforehand, but they repeatedly blew him off saying a cop needed to catch him red handed and refused to assist further. So one night they waited up in the corner of the garage with a shotgun and almost like clockwork, the thief strolls in. The thief gets shot (unsure if fatally or not), and now the tenant is being charged with premeditated murder or something similarly severe because he allegedly "baited" the thief by leaving the garage door open. At what point is the thief innocent here, and since when can a homeowner not defend his property, on his own property? Wtf, man, WTF.

There's the story in the news about the old man who shot the two teenagers who constantly broke into his house. Killing them both. He is now being charged with premeditated. But he was waiting for them and shot a ton of times to make sure they were dead. I'm in westminster. Shit sucks, I was gone for no longer than an hour. And the way my condo garages work, no one besides people who live here would be able to see the garage open. So it's one of my shitty ass shady neighbors.

In the case I read about the guy put a webcam in the garage and waited for the perps. when the kid showed up the owner shot the kid through the wall.
They are calling it murder because the guy was never in imminent danger and caught it all on video.

You can only pull the "make my day law" if you can say (even with some doubt) that you felt threatened.

Hope you find your wheels.
I plan on getting new wheels when the stock tires wear out, but I was going to put winters on my stock rims....

Thanks! Odds are we'll be looking for something in the Castle Rock area, as the wife may be commuting to the Springs.. Any tips in that area?

Castle Rock is a relatively small area but it's growing (like anywhere nice). Getting to downtown Denver will take about30-45min, getting to Co Springs will take around 30-45min. I've had friends that live in CRock and they like it, but constantly commuting to the bigger cities can be annoying. Traffic on I25 can be a clusterf*ck around rush hour. Denver is huge, it can take an hour just to get from one side of the city to the other.

To compare to CRock, on the southern Denver metro area, from southwest to southeast there's Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Centennial, and Parker (somewhat separated, most southeast corner of metro area). All are nice (I'm in HR) and I've lived in this area for about 10 years.

Co Springs I've visited, but never lived there. Some of the residential areas feel like older small-house communities (like Littleton near me). But it's a good size city.

Some of the older areas around central and northern central Denver can feel sketchy; Some areas of Aurora are iffy, but most of the outlying areas are newer and have a more open spacious feel. Just about any area of Denver will have an array of shopping, food, etc. Due to the hills, some areas can see the mountains, some can't. We have bicycle paths everywhere.

Thanks for the info. We are currently in Orange County, CA, so I think we actually look forward to I25 rush hour traffic. We can't classify a rush hour here, because traffic generally sucks anytime other than the middle of the night. Same goes for the size of the city (LA area). It takes 45 minutes minimum, just to get into the city from here.

There really is no such thing as "suburbs" in OC, as the entire county has a dense city feel (at least our experience in lower OC). We grew up in NJ, 45 minutes from the bridges for Philly, and 2.5 hours from NYC, so we are hoping that CRock will be a bit more comparable to what we've always called "home".

So, what I'm gathering from your input, regarding the Denver metro, generally speaking, the south side is more appealing than the north?

We flew into LA once and had to make our way to Pasadena for a wedding, you're not kidding about the traffic...
I only suggested the south Denver area because you were looking at the CRock and Co Springs areas. Just about any area outside the central Denver metro will have a nice suburb feel.
