I thought the Euro regulations were in relation to the front bumper height to prevent pedestrians from getting low-bridged and thrown into the windshield (which supposedly causes the most bodily harm).

^^Hehe, yeah...would be pretty hilarious if rear impact standards were a thing. But I wouldn't put it past those ridiculous Europeans.

However, you have to keep in mind that if the front of a vehicle is raised (for whatever reason), then chances are the rear will be raised as well. Otherwise it'll just look weird. Additionally, raising the hood line of a car also results in larger wheels, if you want to maintain a vehicle's proportions. Another side effect of a higher hood (and trunk) is more space on the front and rear fascia. Which is why you have all these ridiculously overstyled vehicles with fake air vents and huge gaping grilles. Designers would apparently prefer their designs to be busy rather than bland or contain blank space.

Since most out of control porkers are going backward at speed, I can see their concern?

A quick question..... B58 doesn't have individual throttle body like high end BMWs right?

I did some research & found out the engine is close desk design with water to air cooling from factory? And forged crank and connecting rod..... looking good.

Looks like a single TB to the left of the engine in the pictures above if that helps.

They could make it prettier. Have you seen a naked BMW motorcycle versus a fairinged BMW with the fairings off? Same thing.

Yeah, it is unsightly but I would be more concerned about the spaghetti mess of wires and hoses plus the placement of accessories and things like the water pump. It looks like an absolute nightmare to work on and I typically do 95% of my own work. An engine bay that looks like that is a total turn off for me. But then my experience with "german engineering" has been that they can make the most basic automotive repair overly complicated and insanely expensive.

That is one of the reasons I wish this was a Toyota drivetrain.

Aren't those pictures of the race car not the street car?
