You were correct it was the cover they replaced along with the TOB because the inner area that it slides on was also scored up. After closer inspection the clutch disc was fine. They ate all of the labor and the cost of the new hydraulic fluid and transmission fluid.

On the short drive home from the shop yesterday morning it felt great. I'm going out for a longer ride this afternoon and expect it to be like a whole new car. Now for some new front brake pads and rotors and some new tires next.
