I've been on Android since Android was an option, so my inclination is for one of the first two. I'm not considering the Pixel XL at this juncture, as much as I like the stock Android experience.

I like the s7 edgeless but if htc fixed all the little things on the m8 i would say try the htc.

Any motorola phone, no qualms about the moto x pure edition that I have been using. Not top of the line but it does what I need to do (and just like a 707 hp hellcat, very, few people will ever max out the hardware of top phones).

I do hear that One Plus is getting better, I hated them for using the invite model but they got rid of that I believe.

That's pretty much it. Huwei looks decent also.

One plus did indeed stop the invite thing(so I've read). I'm about to get a Moto pure myself since my Note3 is pissing me off

My current phone is a Motorola. They built the Nexus 6 for Google. I like Motorola, but they do some goofy things sometimes. The Nexus 6 kernel throttles down two cores when the battery drops below 40%. Unfortunately, that means with a 2 year old battery it's basically unusable for anything but texting or phone calls after like an hour and a half of screen-on time.

I'm not super interested in a Chinese phone. I know they're all assembled there, but I'd rather deal with an American, Korean, or Taiwanese company for customer service than a Chinese company, knawmean.

Oh yeah, I completely understand. The one time I actually called outbound at work to a customer, someone from China picked up and we had a fun 20 minute convo of "may you repeat that please?" and "May you say that slower?".

I eventually gave up and asked her to send an email.

For the most part the battery in any phone can be replaced, although it may not be average consumer serviceable. It's not like they mold them into the case (although if they did that it would make it even easier).

The problem is once you get to that point most folks think its "cheaper" to get a new phone rather than have the current one repaired for what it cost.

@jawn A new battery for a Nexus 6 can be had for about $40, minus installation but I understand they aren't that difficult to change, although I have not done it.

My current phone (Droid Maxx) is 4 years old and going strong battery-wise.

I do like my iPhone 6S Plus. Wouldn't consider the 7, I'll wait for the 8 at this point, or switch back to an android.

I'd recommend the OnePlus 3. I had the 1 (great phone) and the 2 (terrible phone)

Don't have to call China for that issue. It took 15 minutes of pointing and gesturing for me to order lunch one time but that was in rural Tennessee.
