X2, a Mod can't babysit all the immature people here 24/7. thanks for all the great work you do for us @ichitaka05

its a good thread, you could just clean it up by deleting all the "fighting, rude, and childish" post.

It's funny, there are communities that follow the iron fist philosophy to keep everyone in line and protect feelings, some are pure chaos, some are fine to let certain discussions run amok to a point but will clamp down on other topics like North Korea.

Kiddos gotta test the waters, moderators can set the tone as they please.

Keep waitin' for your TRD carbon fiber roof, as long as you sleep happy at night, the greatest thing is that 100,000+ people are enjoying the shit out of this thing.

Its anything-goes OT section naturally devolved into a cuss-fest since the early 2000s before trolling was a thing. At least they had a section dedicated to trash talk to keep other sections clean. But trash inevitably leaked to other sections a bit. Difference with ft86club is disrespectful tone exists rampantly throughout all its subforums. It's become the culture here.

I've been lurking over there for years and still do occasionally. It is a war zone and definitely not for the faint of heart. Such a waste of knowledge and helpful information by people who just enjoy being internet dic**. I really hope that ft86club never becomes that.

no one is saying we should all hold hands and sing kumbaya, but is it showing others a little respect to much to ask?

i think only you would link showing respect to other members too that of North Korea.

Considering price of our cars, I think the MR2 Spyder, MR2, and AE86 forums have a larger pool of younger drivers. But they know how to be respectful. Elementary kids know respect better than full grown men. It's not only about age, but the example that others set (such as the 20 year old in this thread) on forums. It's herd mentality.

I wish they'd fix the issues with the car instead of making new special ones.

Crickets
Rusty pillars
Condensing tails
Rear deck snap, crackle, pop

All of these and more are known issues with many of our cars, and none of them have a "real" factory fix.

It'd be interesting though if it was a new model sold with that big ass wing. Looks ridiculous off the track.

For all those jumping on OP, cool down, seriously.

To be honest, I could care less about a turbo. It's fine (the car) as is. I'm sure most will agree. What I do find important is that the gt86 looks like it will have a healthy lifespan. I mean, why would they do all this testing if they would just kill it off?

Thanks for sharing, OP.

The 16 will be the end. The money dudes are starting to ask why there are so many different versions of the same car.

The next gen will be called the iFR-S. Same car, but shiny!

Lightweight Toyota GT 86 spied once more

Quote:
Could have carbon fiber body parts

The Toyota GT 86 prototype fitted with lightweight parts has been spied once again testing on the Nürburgring.

2015 will be the year when Toyota is going to introduce a facelifted GT 86 and based on these spy shots it could end up being offered with optional lightweight body parts. We don't know for sure if the hood, roof and trunk of this prototype are made from carbon fiber but it wouldn't come as a surprise if Toyota will offer them at an additional cost part of an optional package.

The new hood has double air intakes while the back hosts a massive fixed wing and in the engine department there could be a larger boxer unit as previously hinted by chief engineer Tetsuya Tada. He also said the facelifted GT 86 could feature new intake and exhaust systems developed with Gazoo Racing along with a different final drive ratio for more powerful accelerations.

The GT 86 facelift is scheduled to go on sale sometime in 2015 but Toyota could decide to show it before the end of the year. Sister models Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S will likely end up with the same array of changes.

Would be cool to see a hopped of version with a warranty. Let those who like the regular version get that and ones who want more to shell out the extra coin for it...but that makes too much sense.

Sadly, I agree. Car has been played out already, which is sad. Car was CRAZY popular and praised when it first came out, and seems to have been forgotten already. So many different versions of the EXACT same car with different trim levels (none of them performance oriented) screams grasping at straws to sell more.

Given the amount of money being spent for aftermarket performance upgrades, a factory performance package would likely rekindle the original flame.

In the Vette world base C7's are already piling up on dealers and being discounted where Z51 optioned cars are very difficult to lay hands on at MSRP+. The new Z06 has orders pending that will strip nearly all 2015 production.

People will pay for factory performance...... The twins are possibly the only "sports" type car without any factory performance options???????

The twins have the Cayman problem even tho Toyota has nothing above the 86 in the sports car portfolio.
