Nice! I'm going to have to try this later. The TRD badge always bugged me.

Tuned a car with one of these yesterday. I've noticed on the last couple of these I've tuned that they really jack up the MAF a lot more than you'd expect a TRD product to do. With the stock rom it was pretty far off... causing power to be down considerably up top. After tuning we were able to get it all back and make some pretty nice gains.

Virtual dyno runs for comparison purposes only obviously (it was a street tune). They were made same day/conditions/road/etc though. Only difference was the rom:

Does TRD intake has much lower HP and torque than stock <4000rpm range?

This particular car was noticeably down on power across the board because it was running lean and pulling timing everywhere. Bear in mind those runs are generated by virtual dyno... the numbers don't really mean anything. It's just there for a relative comparison run-to-run, back-to-back. It would've likely made more power in both cases on an actual DynoJet, but the difference would still be the same.

I don't remember specifically how the other cars compared to this one on the stock rom.. but i've definitely noticed a trend towards leaning the cars out significantly. I do remember noting that the amount of timing being pulled was considerably more than what is typical on a couple of them.

is the TRD louder inside compared to OEM? I actually quite like the induction sound now, dont want it to go away... Or am I the only one that thinks that the sound tube actually works?

Definitely not louder, as the intake tube is removed. You will lose some of that induction sound, but I like hearing the more natural engine noise.

but you can still hear it right? as long as I make gains I guess losing the sound is a small penalty... I`m gonna go UEL header soon anyways

I also have the TRD exhaust, but you can still hear the intake sound somewhat. There are videos on youtube comparing the two - this Motor Trend one is pretty good. http://wot.motortrend.com/2013-scion...re-351939.html

TRD is way quiter than stock, but you can modify the snorkel to get a lot of (real) noise back.

Someone painted or dipped this part?

I'd like "stealth" engine bay and I wonder if is it possible to dip it (and if resist the paint)
