If you are serious about an LS swap, then just get the cheapest car you can find. Any abuse from the previous owner will either be negated by the swap or be relatively easy to fix.

If you were to keep the stock engine and trans, then get the cleanest, lowest mileage you can afford.

SEATAC area to Lewiston ID on Tues. then WA129 south on the Rattlesnake Grade
to Enterprise OR. and back home last night.

I got pictures. Will put up a new drive report in a bit.

Didn't crash.
Late to the party, car is too slow.

This is a great drive! Did it last summer. Didn't bother uploading the downhill due to other drivers blocking our way but the uphill was so fun!

Pretty much anywhere. I did a quick autotrader search for SCION FR-S <$18,000 Any Distance from my location and came up with 406 possibilities.

There were two listed under $12,000, one with 70K miles and one with 40K miles.

Admittedly I didn't read the details on them.

I bought my frs without tax for 12k usd (15.5k with tax and finance) but I knew the guy working at the Toyota dealership

To op. Make sure you read up on the direct injection issue. The car is so much fun but if you're going for speed or drag races, you're guna have a hard time.
