Probably nothing crazy, something <$100k is the reasonable answer (Supra and Cayman look pretty good to me right now with 2 pedals, a couple M cars, not sure, I'd drive a lot first, maybe a new NSX) but a 911 GTS or AMG E63S would tempt me to break through that threshold.

I'll take space for a tow vehicle, trailer, Kart/Spec Miata/SRF, free time, and consumables and entry fees over a Ferrari/Lamborghini/Mclaren/Bugatti/Koeniggsegg etc. in a heartbeat.

Easier said than done, unfortunately. I'm lucky to be alive, after 3 pretty bad motorcycle accidents (plus a couple of minor ones) over about 20 years of riding sportbikes. The only thing I regret is not giving it up sooner. I'd have saved putting my wife and young son through the trauma of seeing me in the ER more than once. Bikes are so much less forgiving than a car when traction is lost for a moment.

My dad broke some ribs in a fall in his late 60s. That's when he stopped riding. Idiot for doing it in the first place.

I used to ride, don't knock it until you try it. I dont ride anymore due to kids but dont regret the days when I did. Also live in the northeast now where there is a much higher probability of someone running me over - that's the biggest danger.

I wasn't as smart as he was. I stopped riding after I broke ribs the 2nd time (in addition to 3 fractured vertebrae, partially collapsed lung and torn rotator cuff).

I've noticed many more distracted drivers since smart phones came out. I definitely think it's more dangerous now than it was 20 years ago.

If this was a motorcycle site there we would probably be losing one member each month from a fatal crash.
I learned early on to just give up the dream of riding a motorcycle from personally knowing 5 young people dying
and another one that almost did and that was just from falling over at 5 mph, when somebody was goofing and
jumped on, and pushing his elbow in to rupture his spleen. Almost just "slept it off" but decided to get it checked
out at the hospital and that saved his life.
A minor fender bender type accident on a bike can be a death certificate. Speaking of which is how two of the other
five I knew did die.

Learn from other's mistakes.

Same. My friends all went through a sport-bike phase after high school. About five or six of us all bought bikes in the same year. We rode for a few years, then they all started getting married and having kids. Eventually I was the last. I put 30k miles on my SV1000S, which was modified and upgraded over the years. I was riding more aggressively as time went on. I started fearing complacency. I decided to sell it and put the money into a newly acquired 1970 Fiat 124 Sport Spider, which needed a lot of upgrades to be fun and reliable. I don't regret selling the bike.

As a kid, i grew up on 2 wheels, so i love the concept of motorcycles. But i can't trust others to keep away from my big metal box the way it is.
